I mentioned above that I sold my 2001 Suburban (at the time) for $9k and bought my first BMW for the same amount. Same year, color, price. But very different perceptions.

Haha, I had a few kids who worked for me over the summers at a marina who always were driving old 944s and E36 BMWs. They got constant remarks on their cars, but they did all their own work and bought them cheap... it was fun to borrow their cars every time they got a new one, just for a quick spin in something

What’s funny is when I got my first wagon, I had a 2001 suburban at the time. I sold it for about $9k and bought the BMW with that money, dollar for dollar. They were the same year, color, and price. But oh yeah, now I’m driving a BMW and I must make too much money haha.

So wait. This system (Apple Car Play) which uses a screen that isn’t as nice as your latest phone, to basically repeat and simplify what’s already on your phone’s screen, so you can interact with it the same way you would your phone except that it’s “built-in,” still required you to attach the phone with a cord?

I would add that most cars only come with one of the threaded hooks/eyes as a standard piece of equipment, so it’s a good idea to buy a second one. Then, if your car ever needs to be put on a flatbed and you don’t want them using a suspension component, you can offer both tow eyes. Speaking from experience here, from

For me, it’s feeling obligated to explain how I daily drive a “fancy BMW.” My car is a 2003, and I am certain it costs me less than any of the people with a $300/mo car payment who seem to judge me for my car. Especially because I do a lot of my own work, it’s even more reasonable. But there is definitely a perception

As a current owner of a nice *similar* shade of blue (Topaz Blue) 2003 BMW 325 wagon... this car really raises my heart rate. BUT. You’re right, I’d just have the Volvo Polestar. Or even more likely, a 2011 BMW 328 wagon with a MANUAL.

Well, I’m late to the party too. But I have to share:

It was my understanding that the camera cable landed on the lift cable and that was why they had to stop the chair... I don’t think the chairlift was in any real danger here.

In fact, I think the Washington Post style guide permits it. Which is something, anyway. There are countless reasons why one might need to refer to a single person in the third person but may not know the gender. “They” certainly is clear to anyone reading or listening, and I’ll be happy if I never have to write

I often wonder how it’s profitable to continue making the separate Chevy/GMC products. Like, if you eliminated one or the other, would GM as a whole really lose those buyers to a competitor?

I remember driving these and some of their Subarus back to back, and these were so much more fun. I think the thing was, they had been beaten on for way longer then the subarus had, yet felt infinitely more solid despite their hard lives. I may daily drive an awd German car.

Haha, oh yes I forgot about that sticker! I probably put it there when I was in college in NY, just to get someone....

Haha, the #stickerLyfe is a holdover from the fact that I’ve had this roof box since I was 19. I’m now 35, for comparison.

I usually carry jumping skis on my roof which are between 7 and 9 feet long. With 2 car seats in the back, skis can’t go inside. Also, pitchforks.

On my first day at Team O’Neil they did an exercise that forced you to steer the car with your left foot only. Here’s how it went:

I wait for months for winter to come so I can do this, every day. How bad can your day be when it starts this way?

I thought the same thing, well, mostly that there were dudes standing there not spotting for anyone.

Open carry is different from “detained at gunpoint,” as the article describes.

Haha, no worries. I remember doing it on my old 2001 325 in the parking lot at work. It was 10 minutes from the time I got up from my desk, went to grab the part and a couple tools (it helped that I knew what tools I needed), removed and replaced the pump, put the tools away and was sitting back at my desk.
