This guy is my hero. I own a 4wd 1961 Ford F100 and even THOSE are mostly found polished to a mirror shine, only out on sunny weekends on paved roads. Mine is not one of those.

I recently bought this. Its tank and pump, siren, and lights were totally removed, but there is still an axe mounted to the left side. And I got some Indian pumps to put back on the bumpers where there are still mounts.

Came here looking for a tasteless joke on the fact that it was a RAM pickup. Left empty handed.

Love that they use Cherokees out there. All these amazing cars going by and I’m like, “Hey! An XJ!”

This is how I feel when I’m driving any manual transmission car, and I go to pass someone but need extra power. Downshift, bam! More power.

I’ve driven cars (bmws, but clearly there are others) that were like that. The pedal has a normal stop point, but if you push 50% harder, it presses a button that forces a downshift.

I was going to say, in the same episode, she made a seriously negative comment about Ferarri in general, which they clearly left in. It was about the only snippet of opinion that we got out of her, really. That’s at least a little bit of an argument against Top Gear presented by Ferarri...

Team O’Neil’s? One of my favorite places....

Non-Car People: “You paid how much for a near-30 year old little BMW?!?”

It looks like it’s being held in place by a tie-down strap. It was probably half-assed and slipped down, and then somehow it got hung up on the leg... or something like that.

Ha, my ‘72 was so soft I wedged a boat cushion under the driver’s side, it made a massive difference. My ‘61 has me leaning a bit to the left... fortunately I’m not taking any long trips in it anyway...

Yeah, I think that hardware kit is a good ‘other option’ that doesn’t have the release like a regular seat belt, and is more in line with how it’s attached in my car.

In the short term I just installed an old lap belt, and used that with the big car seat that has its own harness. Nearly as good, really- I was ordering shoulder belts, though, and I figured I would order that hardware kit for $10 because why not.

Seatbeltplanet.com. The hardware isn’t specifically made for kid seat anchoring but it’s very rugged grade 5 or 8 and has a nice loop on top. Look under their hardware kits, it’s in there, kit #5. This is probably a link to the mobile site:

Call me crazy. I’d rather buy an E30 M3 and a house with a garage to keep it in for that kind of money. As others (and you!) have said, it’s a collector piece at this point, not really a car to be driven.

Definitely one of the most careful trips I’ve ever taken... taking the first kid home from the hospital. He’s now 3 almost 4, and his favorite thing is riding in the ‘61 Ford truck on occasion.

My sister used to say “Pontiac makes Mercedes” when we were kids, and it would make me unreasonably angry. Somehow, I couldn’t get past the fact that she was only saying it to annoy me. I knew it, and yet, it made me want to punch her in the face.

Hello! Captain Pedantic here: “Farther” would be the better word than “further” when referring to an actual physical distance. “Further” generally refers to a metahporical distance, or a gap in time, degree, or extent. It’s not wrong, but farther would be more right.

I had a red ‘93 exactly like that, more or less. Mine was a bit more... used. Not lifted or anything, just beaten to death. But it was great! However, it was $1,800, and it ran and drove perfectly fine.

ha! yes, you can tell I didn’t watch the video... at work. As someone who wakeboards, they are instantly recognizable. I was tripped up by the description of “specially-made” because I’m looking at them thinking, he just bolted some wakeboard bindings on there; smart!
