This doesn’t just have to be an individual - it can be an entire studio. Halo Infinite’s development cycle was notoriously toxic and awful (even by Halo standards), and yet Jason Schreier himself basically dismissed the troubles because the game turned out pretty good. :-/

Man, I wish I had taken the kid there at least once. Kept putting it off, then pandemic, and now it’s close. It was, honestly, kinda shitty, but that’s kind of the authentic arcade experience. One of my employers had our Xmas party in it one year, and that was neat.

Definitely. There are plenty where they comment “oh, we’re not ready for that” but one, for example, the boss jumps out and surprises you when you pick a flower, and there’s just no indication how rolled you’re about to get.

I’m near the end (I think) of Tales of Arise. It’s my first Tales game, but I’m loving it. It’s very JRPG, and that’s exactly what I wanted.

I can’t afford to move back to Vancouver! We looked at it a couple years ago, and if we sold our house, we could maybe get a small condo. Maybe I could live in Hope and mostly work from home. But then I’m living in Hope...
