Just to be clear, you played 30 hours and you haven’t finished it yet? Seems like a pretty long game then, especially for an action masher JRPG. It’s been ages, but I remember the first one being around 20 hours, and that was about long enough.

also a shame that the clothing doesn’t show up in game. I love that crap!

I’m relieved to see Kotaku acknowledge New World without implying tacit approval of the terrible practices of an evil corporation.

Haha. I don’t hate Kotaku (seriously, I invite you to check my post history for anything negative, other than some typo corrections, and maybe some friendly joking). But my friends and I did joke that Kotaku wasn’t going to say anything nice about New World (a statement, not a judgment). This isn’t support for Amazon,

My friends and I were wondering how Kotaku could make sure to cover New World in a negative way. Thanks for the free lunch!

I guess it’s a great value, but having more than one AA game on the same collection is just so daunting. I’ve loved all the AA games I’ve played, but when I’m done, I’m done with the series for at least a year...

Crosby suite? Odd typo aside, that is such a red flag right there. “Oh, you know.. it’s Rapey Jim.. that’s just how he is.... “

Fair point. It’s probably a knee-jerk to that same idea. If a JRPG says it’s 100 hours, it probably should be 30, so my reaction is if they say it’s 30-40, I think it should probably be 15. But that’s what I’m hoping people will say in the reviews. Always nice to be wrong about these kinds of things.
 Is your current

The meal is interesting, but I want to know more about why this is considered a ritual sacrifice (and how common was this?) rather than a criminal punishment...

Sounds interesting. 30-40 hours might wear it a bit thin. I hope you let us know if the novelty sustains the entire game!

Thanks! That’s good to know.
However, I’m somewhat more concerned about the time it will steal from my life. I play games with endings almost exclusively for that reason. Heh.

I will not try Genshin Impact. I will not try Genshin Impact.

but... sooo cute....

Must. Resist.

I love that they misspelled “omnipotence” as “ominpotence”.. it’s like delicious impotence you can eat!

Yeah, the only stats I can find say in 2017, they made $4.3 billion in revenue. Even if that’s raw sales, and Valve only keeps 30% of that, that’s still $3 million/day. Would love to hear where that $10k/day figure comes from. Maybe that’s just Gabe’s cut.

I guess, but still a patent? Why not just change the terms of service or something?

But is this patentable? Inheriting things is pretty ancient. “Oh, but not on a computer! I don’t understand things not made of wood, so this is clearly a new thing!”

... disappointing no one.

RE:Village was worth full price. Not even sure why they tried to ‘bundle’ it rather than just say it was free to play when it was ready.

Sad, but glad they’re staying safe. 2022 is gonna be -busy-.

While I’m all for this, my experience with DoubleFine (especially Psychonauts 1) just makes me think they gave up balancing the last few levels again. Lol.

I keep looking at that first picture and all I can see is two left arms....

I think their idea wasn’t to truly mess with the files, but rather than making a fake file system, they’d make a fake DLC manager or something. So you go in and delete Wassername Expansion Pack from your DLC, or something like that. Basically the same thing, but fits with the console aesthetic more.
