we’ve had stuff leaked by outside QA companies. A friend once told me they got a call from a CD copy place (back in the day) saying someone came in trying to copy a game that was still in progress. Turns out he was a tester.
I feel like on a public forum, providing a counterpoint/argument won’t change the mind of my adversary, but will maybe provide balance for other readers. Like if more impressionable readers only see that one side, then they won’t ever see another side.
I’m sure this is just dumb justification, but it’s what I do.
I got into an annoying argument with someone about Aloy in Horizon Zero Dawn that started with “a woman can’t do all that stuff” (which I attempted to counter with the triple threat of “no one can - it doesn’t have to be fully realistic” and “some women could - Aloy is one” and “it’s a video game”)
But it was all a…
I can’t read the article yet ecause I’m only halfway through, but beside the look of the show, I don’t like Aramaki’s “sustainable war” premise and feel like that’s more in Appleseed’s wheelhouse (which makes sense given that’s how Aramaki got into the Shirow game).
Also smacks a bit of MGS5, which is a bit funny…
No Amiga 1000? The true classic?
I know it’s too much to expect a Coleco Adam. lol. sigh.
Cool stuff. Last summer we went camping in northern Idaho (yeah, I know...) and a meteor was big and low, and we could see it break up into smaller burning pieces. So cool.
I dunno. He’s done a LOT. Very little of it any good, but he’s done a lot.
The Missing: JJ and the Island of [forgotten memories? something like that] is good too. Fun Limbo-style game with an intriguing character/story-journey.
I‘ve played about half of these and liked them, so I’ll check out some more. Outer Wilds is hanging around my list but it’s a pretty lengthy game.
Not just a mortician, but a mortician in a horror film....
I got this game, despite reviews, when it came out. The opening monologue was the tipping point. Kaine is one of my favourite game characters of all time (and I’ve been gaming 40+ years). I loved that game so much and got so many people to play it (most loved it). I love Automata too (but I think Nier is a better…
Who has more free time? Grocery shopping takes way longer, my job takes more time, and we’re homeschooling a kid now on top of this. And it’s gardening season, which always makes spring busier.
I’m kind of holding off because my friends keep telling me Normal is pretty difficult. There’s certain challenges I don’t mind (working through RE3 right now), but having to repeat a 20 minute boss battle multiple times is not something that sounds enjoyable to me. I don’t really like burning my free time just…
If you can handle the death metal vocals, the band Rivers of Nihil has a pretty incredible album called “Where Owls Know My Name” which is, at least on the surface, about a guy who is made immortal by the earth and he wanders around as the last human experiencing crushing loneliness, etc.
It’s also technical death…
I played the demo and enjoyed it, but the combat felt like something I really didn’t want to do for an extended period of time. Does the demo do a good job of conveying the battle system, or is it a lot more interesting when you get more characters and options?
Ahhh? What? I just took a Prilosec OTC! Is there any acid blocker (over the counter) that’s safe? I took them for a long time, but now I just take them a couple times a year for a week or so when things get bad.
(like during a pandemic >_> )
Did you remember to bake it? You gotta bake it, dude.
I’ve played 2 AC games so far (starting on GameCube, then New Leaf). I really enjoyed them, even with annoyances (why no quick select for tools??), but I need like 10 years between each one because the burnout is real. I’m surprised that some people pick up every iteration.
This article just reminded me I’m not ready…
Looks like it’s not adjusted for cost-of-living. You can make $150k (as a family) in Seattle or San Francisco or New York (or many other cities) and still be house-poor with a not-fancy house... So far both of us can WFH, but lots of people can’t.
But why is Fred Durst there?
