They’ll regroup and go somewhere that isn’t a dumpster fire masquerading as a civilized state.  They are under no obligation to try and help save Florida from itself.

They’re not “withdrawing from the public sphere,” they’re still very public. They’re still holding the event, just online rather than in a place that will put many of their attendees in danger.

What part of this made you think they were doing this to make Florida change? They are doing this to protect themselves. Florida can choose to keep being a GOP-run shithole where COVID and anti-LGBT laws are allowed to run wild and AGDQ can choose to take their business elsewhere?

Because around here, just about everything has been dropped 6 months ago and hospitalizations are at background noise level and deaths almost non existent.

Yeah I’d wager it’s their vaccination mandate policy that is the bigger reason they are bailing. Sounds like they would be legally prevented from being able to enforce it.

Orlando is actually very liberal ( my district in downtown Orlando went for Biden by a roughly 80-20 margin), but I don’t blame them for avoiding FL in general. DeSantis sucks, and the redneck parts of the state tend to outvote us in the cities.
