“I have no worry about anything really right now. I had my heart attack, and one of the realizations that I had is that the money is just a Machiavellian intellectual process, basically. And so I used, spent it, and I bought a theater in my hometown.”

im ex invert y guy for 10+ years now

i bet this trailer could go on for 15 minutes and you’d still have no idea what the plot is.

My theory is that the very first 1st person games were MS Flight Simulator, which mimicked actual flight sticks, which when you push them up, the nose goes down.

As a fellow old, I was an invert Y guy.

The last mech game I played was MECHWARRIOR, for the IBM PC Compatible (x386 or higher recommended). I was focused on other games in the in between.

SO they are interviewing Eddie Murphy while he’s watching TV? and he just happens to flip by Raw?

I dunno. Trump is so vague and incoherent when he talks that it’s hard to say what he is and isnt asking for.. I can’t imagine him being specific enough about anything to incriminate himself. He’s stupid/smart that way.

I knew it. I knew it. I knew it. Prior posts about the switch lite were always littered with questions/requests for MORE in depth understanding of how owning two Switches would “work”, and now we clearly know it doesn’t.

Al Michaels doesn’t say “the football” all the time, he usually says “the bwoll”, so there’s that.

Yeah, as an American, I barely even noticed the “crash”. Perhaps a couple of broadcast news pieces about Atari having problems, but nothing more than that. I think the monoculture at the time viewed videogames as an ebbing and flowing fad. My experience was the general public didn’t take the industry seriously enough

1000x this. I started avoiding games with boss fights. They suck and are boring.

One of the Shining Force-s had this problem too. Really awful, repetitive, like-for-every-single-battle music. I replayed both recently and the memory of how bad it is flooded back. Played the game largely on mute

This is a great argument in favor of- even if god doesn’t exist, sometimes it’s better to fool yourself into believing anyway

I love it when an 8-bit soundtrack debate sparks up a thread, bringing back the inevitable classic, but this thread has brought some deep cuts to the fore. Great pick!

YEah same here. All my friends were within BMX range. In fact, when I befriended someone a township over (20 minute drive) my parents groaned and i didnt understand why.

Most people we see look like people we’ve seen.

I love cold, robotic, detached musicians, but for some reason that’s exactly what puts me off of Tegan & Sara. I’m stumped as to why!

My friend’s wife can’t understand british accents, full stop. Her face simply goes blank. She’s not American but you’d never guess it listening to her, her english (and comprehension) is near perfect. She understands a variety of other accents, but many times, especially at loud get-togethers, he has to secretly

It’s hard for me to imagine this movie without Bacharach’s score. It quite literally sets the tone. Maybe it seems too on-the-nose now, but the score runs against the grain of the genre on purpose, jolting the audience out of the tired western mindset. It keeps the film light.
