It's fun to think logic like that should be applied to situations like this one, but sadly, thanks to today's lawyers, it never is.

I got lost at the part the both of you were arguing between Toyota and Honda. Winning that argument is like winning the special Olympics - you know the rest.

I've watched hours of streaming video, over 4G and WiFi, played various graphics/processor intensive games, and haven't noticed anything more than a luke warm difference in temperature.

For sure. Considering how much easier it is to set up a new iPad, or iPhone for that matter, without connecting to a computer, I'm surprised they didn't put more emphasis on that.

Just a quick update for anyone else with my same questions. WOW, I can't believe how easy it was to set this thing up. All I had to do was turn the new iPad on, input my iCloud credentials, and 5 minutes later it looked like a clone of my old iPad. The apps even appeared in the exact same folders and order.

My iPhone 4 (not even the 4S), never scored under 3-4 Mbps, sometimes getting 5 Mbps or above, where I used to live - and that was a small southern Utah city, not known for having the best of the best when it comes to technology. That's crazy you're only getting 1 Mbps.

They did mention that you don't have to connect to a computer, but it was more like an afterthought.

I need a different guide, and I imagine quite a few others are in the same boat.

Apple is trying really hard to keep these readily in stock. Every single iOS device, other than the iTouch, has lost untold sales thanks to unavailable stock.

You don't need an active credit card attached to your iTunes account unless you plan on purchasing apps or media with a credit card. Plenty of people, especially younger folks with parents who don't trust their kids with an active credit card, rely on iTunes gift cards to purchase content.

It's Gorilla Glass. Apple was the first manufacturer to utilize Gorilla Glass on their products, mobile or otherwise, and you can bet they'll continue utilizing it anywhere it may provide some benefit.

Huh? Those are just optional methods of payment you can accept with this system. If you want to only accept cards, you can do that.

Huh? Pre-orders to receive the device on the 16th sold out in just under 48 hours. After that, the best Apple could guarantee is that your order would ship sometime around the 19th.

So how do they handle the "my wifi isn't secured" defense? Outside of sending someone to investigate every computer in your house, how can they be absolutely sure that I downloaded that torrent? Even if your WiFi is secured, if it's secured via WEP, that can be broken in a matter of seconds without you knowing.

Just get a seedbox and get on with all the torrenting you want. The one I have ready to go if my ISP ever has the balls to threaten me, has 1 TB downloads and 1TB uploads for about $30 a month. You basically download the torrent to your seedbox which is on its own ISP somewhere in the country, then when it finishes

Even after several people explained how ridiculous your statement was, you still won't back down.. Wow... This is why pro-fanboys and anti-fanboys have zero credibility.

Yeah, the difference isn't as noticeable until you see the full size images. I just re-read my comment, and I think it came off way more smart-ass than I intended. I just meant it to be sarcastic. My bad.

Nobody thinks the iPhone created the smartphone industry as it used to be, but it sure as hell created the smartphone industry as it exists now.
