So Gizmodo doesn't think HSPA+ counts as 4G? Then there should be dozens of posts decrying T-Mobile's "FauxG" HSPA+ network, and the fact they label virtually every single new phone to support their "FauxG" network as authentic "4G".

"4G" will only be shown when your phone is connected to HSPA+ networks. Period. If you're not within range of HSPA+, your phone will show "3G", "E", or "O", depending on the type of network you're connected to.
