My dad orders his coffee at 180 degrees. He sometimes gets the odd raised eyebrow from the barista taking the order, then he points out that he’s got a full upper plate of dentures, plus after all the dental work required for them did a lot of nerve damage, so he can withstand the heat.

The Bimbo HQ is down the road from where I live. Still makes me giggle when I drive by.

I was gonna say WATCH IT ANYWAY, IT’S WORTH IT, but seems you already did. Keep on keepin’ on!

Go to the fucking Grizzly and Wolf Discovery Center in West Yellowstone next time. They have captive bears that can’t be re-integrated into the wild, AND they do educational talks all day about bear behavior and such. Obviously that would be helpful.

Excellent, cuz I was about to comment on how this week’s stories made me want to go punch an entitled person...

Was also going to say I was reminded of Tom Pryce. Gutting to watch.

I once fainted in front of a friend, and when I came to I thought I was dreaming that she was trying to wake me up. I thought to myself, “This is a very specific dream. I wonder what my subconscious is trying to tell me?”

“As long as my DNA is in my child’s blood...”

Are we related? Your dad sounds like one of my uncles. He likes to pull up as close as humanly possible to the car in front of him, even though it puts him at a disadvantage if they stall or he needs to get out of the lane, and if you so much as gently mention that to him, he flies off the handle and sulks for the

She reminds me of my co-workers back in Montana, back when I was shuffled into the “admin” side of the business I worked for because “well, IT is kinda like admin, and you’d probably fit in with the women better anyway.” (Right, we saw how well that whole institutionalized sexism in the workplace worked out, she says

Their marketing team is amazing. Too bad they’re marketing Fireball.

Could have gone my whole life without knowing that. Goddamnit. I’m not the praying type, but my thoughts and feelings are with her family.

I’ve gone through bouts of chronic pain. I hear you on feeling lucky when something finally works to stop it.

I was that bridesmaid. But I also talked to the bride ahead of time, because we both knew it was a financial hardship to get to her wedding halfway across the continent, stay somewhere probably expensive, and buy a dress that I would never wear again. She offered to help me with my travel and lodging expenses, and I

Geez, I’m glad my TN went away on its own! When I had attacks, it was like the entire left side of my face gave up on functioning. Droopy eye, leaky nostril, almost a stroke-like appearance if I tried to smile...the worst one lasted 4 hours, and I spent it with that side of my face mashed against the cold tiles of my

Same. That’s what I take for hot flashes (as needed, not every day). I’ve met people who’ve had REALLY strong reactions to it, tho, and ended up like zombies. Pretty weird how drugs like that have such varied effects.

I’ve had trigeminal neuralgia. THE WORST. Luckily, it’s only triggered by extreme stress, and I’ve found ways to keep myself from getting that far into the weeds. Haven’t had an episode since 2009 or so.

Congrats on being seizure free for so long! Hope it continues indefinitely :)

I know my company (enormous and publicly traded) has a media policy, and none of us are allowed to discuss who we work for in public forums. If I make an appearance in an interview or on a podcast, I have to contact them ahead of time, even if it’s not work related. The restrictions are pretty logical, and the media
