I mean sure, but it doesn’t explain the point of it all. Why change something so minor, and piss off so many people, with something that then requires an overly complicated explanation to undo it later on?

I don’t really see what this change added to the story in any way, or made it remotely more interesting.
It seems to me that the people involved in the production of this show should stop taking questions and doing interviews, as it either makes them sound stupid or is deeply insulting to fans.
“Lets talk about the early days of playstation!” then an article that only talks about PS2
Except the games were cheaper.
While im inclined to agree, the changes they made to the witcher definitely haven’t been for the better, overall. Also doesn’t help that as much as I enjoyed S1, it was a confusing mess for the audience
I think it’s more of, people just want it to be good, and that is the way they are latching onto the conversation. I don’t know the books, I’ve played witcher 2 & 3, and I flat out think the show is fine, mid, blah, ok, average. I could see people saying the books are really good and then me going “OH! I wish the show…
I see the success of the first game made him even more pretentious and self-absorbed. I guess that’s expected when he can get away with writing dialogue like “You’re Mario and I’m Princess Beach” unironically.
The show did work as an excercise of a cultural appropriation - taking a novel from East Europe and remaking it as a generic American fantasy TV show to the point of unrecognizableness - so I guess it did achieve some sort of “success”.
As an addendum, I really apologize the length of the following list. It is just that the latter half had so many hilariously stupid moments that I just feel the burning need to list some, and this is just some, of them:
<sniff, sniff> Is that repressed self loathing I detect on the wind? I do believe it is.
Is one of the features "make the default tile the last game you played and not the ad tile"? Please?
wait, we have Atmos support now and you’re not gonna mention that???
So... they want to use his intellectual property, but are unwilling to pay the price he set for its use? And instead of just... using something else, they went to court?
Nintendo isn’t Nintendo either then.
This is not a case of two pieces of shit exhausting their resources each other, this is activision being the piece of shit
Why’d they go with such a weird art style? It’s not like the Disney characters are underdeveloped or anything.
I don’t know about this. I really doubt intimacy coordinators can really stop a bear from doing what it wants if it decides to go off script.
