How did far cry 4 make the list over, say, link to the past? as the list says, “any game where you can hang-glide over a waterfall is fine by me”. and you know what? they’re right! that ruled! and if that makes it one of their favourite games of all time, then it deserves a spot on their list.

skyrim is ok, but its no AAA clock.

I clicked on this article under the impression that I would see a list. What I got was a critique of others critiquing a critique that we can’t actually see without subscribing to a paywalled site.

When you make a personal list, you say as much. This is my personal favorite. This is the panel’s most esteemed, top games or whatever.

You do not say, “this is the list of the best video games of all time, as ranked by an expert jury”.

I can’t believe I’m having to say this in 2023, I thought we had collectively gotten past this, but since we clearly haven’t let me spell it out clearly: this is their list.

Literally no one cares.

Most of the white hair options in games aren’t great either. It’s always a bummer during a character creator. Nioh 2 had a pretty good system for hair. Wish hair had a better focus in general, especially when there’s a character creator.

Listen... from experience... It’s not just black hair. IT’S ALL HAIR. It’s hard to model right, hard to rig, hard render properly, hard to lit, etc....

The international aspect is - I admit - tough.

First, I think it is a valid thing to note the difference between various styles of gameplay. There’s major structural, stylistic, mechanical and other differences between, say, Final Fantasy 7 and Baldur’s Gate, to the point where only calling them both “RPGs” feels overly broad.
