And Simon Pegg!

To go along with ProfessorSara, a lot of people knew about this from the books. But it also was one of the most shocking things to happen in that book (on top of Bran being pushed out a window and paralyzed, and Sansa's wolf Lady being executed). I know when I read the book for the first time, I couldn't believe it. I

Actually talking about the sonic screwdriver, couldn't it had been used to lock the door that couldn't lock and therefore resulted in the sacrifice of one of the crew, and the Ganger-Doctor and Ganger-Miranda had to hold shut? I'm actually kind of tired at how super-powerful the sonic screwdriver seems at times, and

Currently listening to Mockingjay as an audiobook, and I feel that it is comparable to some of the worst angsty writing that came from the Harry Potter series. I was thinking the other day that it would be better to actually do the series in 2 films, with the second film being half the quarter quell and half an

Why change The Hunger Games at all? That book is almost a perfect movie right off the page. The antagonism between Katniss and Haymitch is what adds to the seeming connection they have when she's in the arena. They're too much alike to like each other, which is how they work well together. Bah, and things seemed to

Yay! I loved those two episodes and still think they're some strongest episodes in the entire run so far (they're also the best plotted 2-parter in the RTD era). Of course, I still prefer Eccleston as the Doctor, so I'm a bit biased.

Your final comparison with the Silurian two-parter is precisely one of the reasons why I didn't like this episode. I felt like we'd seen this setup before there, with the Doctor being put into the role of arbiter between two groups that had a preferred inclination for conflict to go after their shared self-interest.

I think there has been speculation that book 3 is going to be separated into 2 seasons, and probably some sort of combining of books 4 & 5 since they're largely going to run concurrently.

There is a slightly more dramatic scene with Dany's immunity to fire later on. I don't remember it being this early, but I really don't mind the gentle buildup to it. It saves on having to dump a whole bunch of exposition, or having a singular moment that makes people wonder "How did that happen?"

Jet Li would have to make an appearance as Yulaw.

I wish they had shown more of the the difficulty it takes to get to the Eyrie. It's something like a 2 day travel from the Gate of the Moon (I believe that's the name of the lowest gate) all the way to the main keep, including some very harrowing cliff traveling. They make the mention that the Eyrie is impregnable,

Let's see, a cryogenically frozen [technologically induced slumber] man being woken in unknown future where humans have been become subservient to another race of beings. Sounds an awful like this movie that I saw with Charlton Heston called Planet of the Apes.

Bob Dylan's All Along the Watchtower, fixed your post for you :-) According to the liner notes, McCreary's arrangement is based on Dylan's version.

I think I'm actually more excited about The Shadow Line. Christopher Eccleston and Chiwetal Ejiofor in the same show? The Doctor and the Operative? Yes please!

Forged from the steel of Excalibur and wielded by countless generations of Gunslingers? More than just plain old guns.

Thank you! I was going to comment about this if no one else did.

Well, I think all the current laws use the term homicide (please correct me if I'm wrong) which would suggest a focus on humans. We'd need laws specifically for the killing of extraterrestrial (or in this case extradimensional) beings. I'm sure if Peter was charged, his defense lawyers would push the definition

Game of Thrones on Sunday April 17 and Doctor Who on Saturday April 23? That week in between better be the most awesome week of 2011 if its going to be bracketed like that.

I just remarked to my friends about this exact point. Look at how long it took House to actually include the new team members as the regular cast, instead of using the old opening and listing them as "Also starring"
