We haven’t valued education in this country for a good 40 years. Those chickens are roosting like a motherfucker right now

Eight years of social progress, rebuilding the US’s reputation, bouncing back from a housing bubble collapse, and slashing the deficit must have been really hard on you.
Oh man, acting like a decent human being for 8 years, how horrible was it? Not being able to be an open bigot for for that long must have felt like an eternity.
While Trump assured his supporters that their anti-immigrant stance wasn’t racist because he kept saying he would just focus on the “bad” undocumented immigrants, those same people refused to believe that Obama was already doing that and that deportations increased during his presidency.
simply the fortuitous outcome of a nosey admin.
“Granger is in a very Republican town,” [Ansari] said. “She has a lot of conservative people around her. They run a steakhouse that serves very working-class individuals. She is in the middle of Indiana. If everyone around you is only saying one thing ... people live in news bubbles.”
“Fuck everyone else but me and mine” is the unwritten GOP motto.
JLA has always been “Silverdome Jr.” to me: it was built for one thing with a lot of concrete and very little imagination. You could tell me they were parking garages converted to sports venues and I wouldn’t doubt you.
I want to say something witty or snarky about how these people should just give him a chance, but really: fuck these simple-minded dumbfucks and the shit they’ve unleashed on all of us. I guarantee they take no responsibility for putting this orange asshole into office and all of the horrible shit that has rained down…
There is no good reason for abortion... except for mine.
I have a pair of Vet seats that I use occasionally. It wasn’t Fenway, but it was *our* shithole to a generation that came of age with 5-for-1 Von Hayes!
I mean you’re comparing a what, 40 year old stadium to ones that were for original 6 teams basically since their inception. That’s like trying to compare the old Vet in Philly to Fenway or Wrigley. It might have been a dump but regardless it was still one of the last of its generation. There are very few from the 70's…
Wasn’t built for hockey, but the old Arena in St. Louis was definitely an “old barn” from that time period. I never saw the Blues there (just a bit too young), but did see indoor soccer once, and the Harlem Globetrotters another time.
It’s wild to me how being so amazingly crappy has led to people treating JLA like an old timey shrine when it’s only ten years older than the Palace.
As someone else once said, I will always star a Packers owner joke.
i have a brick in my home office and part of a bench at my folks place in waterford...so i guess that is my dad’s for the time being ;-)
Hull’s foot was in the crease.
We felt the same way here in Edmonton, when Rexall Place was shuttered in favor of the new Rogers Place downtown.
An opinionated, Stanford-educated black man playing in Green Bay would go over with that fanbase about as well as salads, cardio workouts and a realistic understanding of corporate ownership structure.
That’s it, in a nutshell. John Boehner has to be the most content man on the fucking planet right now... being forced out right before the shit hits the fan. He was a shitbird, and champion of the upper class, but at least he was playing the long game and taking into consideration the public response to forcing…
