When I first saw this album cover, I remember having a very strong reaction. Something about it just felt ‘wrong’ to me. I don’t know why. But I was intrigued and gave it a listen (based on a co-worker’s recommendation). The album is great and the cover has stuck in my brain.

Oh man, that guitar string anecdote is all too familiar. I’m 43 and still have bouts of that kind of self-sabotage. My wife is very patient and helps me recognize when to take a step back and breathe. I don’t have any profound advice o. That, except to remember to be kind to yourself.

We are suffering. I’d give away my first born for a reliable way to affordably procure Wonderbars and Coffee Crisps.

I know the show is ‘Salute Your Shorts’ but I don’t know the filming location. But I think the name of the camp was OnaWana. And one of the cast members went on to form Rilo Kiley (I don’t know his name, but I do remember that the character’s name was Pinsky).

The random shit the mind holds on to...

I think he’s saying, “Boo” to the news of Dorough’s passing.

Haha. I took your suggestion and now my morning is going to be way less productive. This stuff is gold.

Do you have a link to the original recipe that calls for a pressure cooker? We recently got an instant pot and are novices to cooking in general (so I wouldn’t know how to go about adapting it) but this recipe sounds delicious.

So, Phoebe Waller-Bridge is just voicing a robot? That’s a shame.

I just recently started Breaking Bad. I don’t know why I never watched it before. Well, I did catch a random episode a few years ago.

We are witnessing the birth of a new Renee-ssance!

Apes was my first episode as well. I didn’t have Comedy Central, but my cousins did. They sent us a VHS with Time of the Apes, Santa Clause Conquers the Martians, Teenage Caveman (with the excellent Catching Trouble short) and Girls’ Town. I think they were recorded from the Turkey Day marathon.

Oh man, Time of the Apes was my first MST3K episode and I love it so much. “Sandy Frank! Sandy Frank! Thinks that people come from trees!”

I watched the documentary not knowing who Crimmins was - just saw it on Netflix and that Bobcat Goldthwaite was the director so I watched. It was indeed a tough watch in some spots, but ultimately so worth the watch.

I remember a couple of years ago I put on Call Me Lucky on Netflix - not knowing anything about Crimmins, but I was going through a documentary phase. What a life this guy had. So caustically funny, but his testimony (at least the portions shown in the doc) is equal parts uplifting and depressing. Uplifting that this

When does Netflix get Better Call Saul S3? That’s the only thing that matters to me at the moment.

I just saw that Parker Posey is Dr. Smith. That’ll get me to at least watch the first episode.

Yep, my wife and I are teachers, I have 10 years in and she has 6 - and combined we pulled in less than $80K (I know because I’m in the midst of our taxes). I guess I need to work in the private sector.

Now playing

I guess Warren Zevon counts as a one-it-wonder, and “Werewolves of London” is a great song (despite Kid Rock’s efforts to destroy it by mixing it with “Sweet Home Alabama”). And he’s got a lot of great deep cuts that makes it difficult for me to pick just one. The stuff from his self-titled album and Excitable Boy

“Add the whole peeled tomatoes, followed by ½ a can of water. Bring to a simmer, and repeat with the sauce and puree.”
