Honey Boy is a perfectly fine movie, but “best”... not so much. Booksmart deserved a lot more love. So did Hustlers.

Booksmart deserved a LOT more love. Easily best director. Screenplay was meh, if we’re being honest, but the actors and director really brought out a great movie.

i think it largely depends if they set up two amazing plots and then decide to go in another direction, which is what happened in the Terminator movies.

I’m looking forward to the plot stopping so we can get a power ballad about he’s lost in the matrix.

That wasn’t my point. My point was that it showed us how this one kid viewed his “hero.” It got into his mind. And that was the point: the Nazis DID think they were doing the right thing. It didn’t mean they were, but thinking they’re mustache twirling villians doesn’t help show how people get radicalized. That’s the

This movie looks amazing. I love the look, I love the action already shown in the trailer, I love everything about it.

Because while the new AV Club lacks the most basic film literacy, enough people seemed to understand that it wasn’t making light of Nazi atrocities, it was showing how those atrocities looked from people on the inside. i think we tend to look at it from the outside. Yeah, we know it’s awful but how to people get

Huh. The Joker’s on this list. What a surprise. I could have sworn you’ve loved it from all of the ways you commented breathlessly on it and the way it lives in the collective heads of the writers for so long.

Maybe. He’s a talented director, but any talent is like the Hulk... it depends on where you aim it. I just think that he tries to simplify complicated stories by showing us the outsider, then the inevitable pushback to the film focuses on his big message, and not the nuance.

D’Arcy Carden should have won performance for best ensemble. Just sayin’.

You didn’t really “ruin” it. You helped educate in a thoughtful manner. Too many people would have just gone to twitter, tag the podcast, and went on a long, retweeted rant that made half of the people outraged, half defensive, and solved nothing. You went on, talked about things in a thoughtful manner, and served to

But it’s Christmas and I’m ever so hopeful.

Yeah. Too many people keep trying to throw men who have a deep personal connection into bed together, then wonder why there’s such a huge “men can’t show emotions” element to toxic masculinity.

The more I learn about Sully, the less I like his version of it. They could have easily turned it into Sully reflecting on all of this without adding in the inquiry establishment “bad guys”. From what I understand the inquiry was largely a “we love Sully” love fest.

“And while Philips has been most vindicated”

This is a compelling case, but not phrased in the form of a question, so we can’t accept it.

How long does it take to make those surfboards for the Teen Choice Awards. This is the content we’re not digging into people!

I love this scene. I also love the reverse when Stan does the same thing, but then ends with, “I guess we’ll just have to stay estranged.”

1. Florence Pugh as the new Black Widow.

So does this confirm that Hopper was taken by the Russians at the end of the most recent Stranger Things?
