It is like working for a company that makes its performance metrics vague so they can arbitrarily fire people. They have ratings like “does not meet expectations”, “meets expectations” and “exceed expectations” but don’t tell you what the expectations are until your yearly review.

She is the kind of woman they hate but desperately want, this might be her Joe Rogan moment and she knows it.  Gunning for that 9 figure Spotify deal.

I don’t like the show because the writing is bad. Her characterization is silly. She is responses to “daily life and relationships” are baffling for a woman (or man) in her 30s. It isn’t a particularly funny sitcom or a good superhero show.

Dude is exhausting. I tried Difficult People, hoping for something similar to You’re The Worst but despite liking some of it, I had to give up because of him.

I get what you are saying, and I am saying the writing is bad. It is a comment section on a piece of pop culture on a pop culture web site.

Asking a character to be well written has nothing to do with her written to  “represent the full potential of female characters.”

Agreed. I stopped watching the show but regularly watched the Between the Scenes videos and found them very well done. He came across so much better when not desperately trying to be liked. And as you said, provided a perspective that wasn’t shown elsewhere.

And her earliest comics should remain where they belong - in the trashWhW

I keep watching it because I am hoping it gets better.  I like Tatiana and the idea of a low stakes superhero show so I am hoping the writers find their footing.

So basically, “writing for women” equals woman obsesses with getting dick.  Gotcha.

Or different people can like or dislike different things.

When SNL did the “Black Widow Movie” sketch with it the movie being a romantic comedy I took it as a commentary on how women are portrayed in media especially by men. Not we are getting it from women in real life.

Marriage is a tool of the patriarchy. Women couldn’t own property, so it was a way for fathers to pass property to their daughters. Once the daughter becomes of age, the father finds a suitable mate who can replace him as the person “in charge” of his daughter.

As opposed to the conservatives who call any production that doesn’t cast a straight white man in all the lead roles “woke.”

Can’t prove what you asked either. At the end of the day, only the director or whomever has final say in casting decisions decides “most skilled” (if that is even the ultimate metric in casting) and when it comes to acting it is subjective.

Shitty writing.

Gonna have to steal Practicing Black Person™.”  You can sue me.

What does that have to do with what I said? I didn’t miss anything. I am addressing one part of the article. The use of Tik Tok as a means to getting the treatment she wants. She has every right to be upset and I am in no way denying what she experienced isn’t an issue that needs to be addressed.

One can be concerned about more than one thing.

Eh, who would have thought that a dude going around defending Derek Chauvin was a piece of shit.
