Well that's a plus. Being able to control how your character grows is fantastic too. My issue is that I found Xenoblade to have a very involved protagonist. Shulk was a big part of the story and had a ton of dialogue. With a silent protagonist that goes out the window, the protagonist becomes an observer of the events

Shulk is the protagonist from Xenoblade Chronicles, which is getting a sequel on the Wii U called Xenoblade Chronicles X.

Wow, the rumor from Gematsu is turning out to be pretty much spot on.

This is everything I was hoping it to be and more.

I'm actually kind of curious how many hours of footage GameXplain managed to get from this 39 minute direct. They always seem to be really good at stretching footage out, not that it's a bad thing!

Now playing

The final boss music isn't a slouch either.

Yeah, its a great concept, and I'm thrilled to see it introduced to Smash Bros. I wonder if this also means we'll be seeing something like the achievement system in Kid Icarus: Uprising and Kirby Air Ride in Smash Bros.

I gotta say that it was surprisingly pleasant to watch, Sakuai's master troll level aside.

The Wii U's release date down the calender.

Yup, since this time around NNID's are being used it would be possible to play a match with someone, then harass them on Miiverse.

It's also worth mentioning that at that point, many third parties were just sick of Nintendo. Moving a short while back into the NES era you can see that Nintendo had the market cornered and they took full advantage of that. If you wanted to release a game it had to be through Nintendo (For the NES era at least), and

The resources and long-term commitment that Facebook brings gives Oculus the runway it needs to solve the hard problems of VR

I get the feeling I'll be regretting what I said earlier in another few months...

Pokemon bank will remain unaffected. It uses the 3DS's internet services to perform a check when transferring pokemon, and that's still got years of life ahead of it.

Sorry, I'm kind of confused with what you're asking.

You transfer them. That isn't being prevented in this change. You can take a Pokemon from the third generation and bring it all the way up to X and Y if you want. While it does suck that completing the Pokedex in those games is now more challenging it isn't impossible by any means.

The Dream World has actually already been shut down.

So can Link even die in this? I know that Zelda is a game that requires a bit more coordination than Pokemon, but never taking damage seems to be removing the thrill of just squeezing though a battle.

It does indeed point towards multiplayer. While there are other potential reasons for this, player named characters being one, nothing besides the three videos we've seen has been revealed for this game.
