I never said that Cruise was better, I said that there was only one comparison (A-List actors doing their own stunts, many of which were quite dangerous), and that was Jackie Chan.

Comparable? Chan has been doing stunts for about 50 yrs, really dangerous ones at that.
Blame it on the rain, man.
But you never close your eyes anymore when I kiss your lips.
The only actor which was comparable was Jackie Chan, but he slowed down because of the amount of injuries that he accrued, especially during his earlier years.
Cruise indeed puts himself out there for stunts much more than most other stars of his income level (if not anywhere near as much as an actual professional stunt performer, that is). But my potential admiration of this fact has always been stunted by the realization that it’s mostly about ego for Cruise. It’s part…
I can’t take the puns anymore. It’s affecting my vision. My eyes are shut, and yet wide.
You guttersnipes are always gunning for the guy at the top.
This business has it out for samurais who come in last. Wait, what?
Well sure. I mean, this type of business? It’s risky.
Came here for Jackie Chan. I remember Rumble in the Bronx had footage of him with a broken foot STILL doing all his crazy shit.
I was about to suggest Jackie Chan isn’t on Cruise’s level but then I pulled my North American head out of my North American ass and realized how stupid that would be.
That said I don’t think there’s any actor at Cruises level that does half the number of stunts he does.
I don’t want to take anything away from him, but I’m just saying that it’s usually the less flashy stunts that are more dangerous (regardless of who performs them) simply because they rely more on the performer’s ability than the technology.
There’s certainly truth to this. However the entire reason the last 4 MI films got made at ALL is because they are vehicles for Cruise to fufill doing stunts that he wants to do. If not for that none of those people would have gotten paid at all.
Ironically, those stunts are probably very low risk because they rely more on the equipment than on Cruise’s abilities as a stuntman to prevent injury.
I thought:
So this delay puts the production into a zone of danger?
He’s more moustache than man now. There is no Henry only moustache.
Sounds like Henry Cavil can get that razor out.
