I’m just here to remind everyone of how awesome Ravi is!

Me, too. I especially like that Chase isn’t straight-up evil and seems to genuinely be trying to maintain peace.

The new season will also make me really like some new character and then kill it a few episodes in. ;___;

That’s the most baffling thing to me about the New 52 to this day. So much of it came off as repeating the same mistakes of the late Iron Age, in terms of story, characters, and shitty costume design. That’s why I’ve been digging Rebirth so much so far. It’s actually felt like it’s been honoring DC’s past 4 color

Cavill is trash.

My glass half full takeaway: at least we haven’t gotten a graphic rape in the DCEU yet.

He’s a good cinematographer — excellent at the visuals and spectacle; and a terrible director — crap at the story logic, world-building, and characterization.

According to interviews, he is, but it’s the “mature” stuff from the Iron Age. Stuff like Watchmen, Dark Knight Returns, Strikes Again, etc...

Is Snyder a comic book fan? He doesn’t seem to be. Or at least he doesn’t seem to get Superman and Batman as characters (I saw an interview where he claimed the Burton Batman movies are where the idea that Batman doesn’t kill comes from).

That is part of the problem. Zach is NOT a story teller he is a damn fine cinematographer who happened to get lucky with 300, and then partially lucky with Watchmen and Sin City. He had a ton of material laid before him and had some controls in place.

I honestly think a lot of why I dislike the man is from his personality. He’s not the worst filmmaker in the world (here come the rocks and bottles), as he does have a very distinct visual style a lot of the time. Everything else in his movies tends to suffer, as far as I’m concerned, but that personality of his

I can be a bit of a contrarian, admittedly. I agree with you, I think Snyder is a mediocre director and comes off as a bit of a douche in interviews.

It feels like a 50/50 split to me. I’ve never been a big Goyer fan, but Snyder has always rubbed me the wrong way as both a director and in interviews.

Is it really a problem for Batman to be fifty? I don’t get how it matters, as long as you still believe he can do the Batman stuff, and as long as he still puts teenage girl butts in seats. Which I think Affleck did, didn’t he?

People here have also started saying they (Bruce) should just groom Dick Grayson for the next Batman. That’s good.

Because Nolan didn’t allow them to use his films...

The only good casting choices WB has made is Cavill, Gadot and Fishburne. Affleck is a decent Batman, but he’s too old.

Because Zach Snyder had a lot of say in the development of the DCEU at the time, and he wants Frank Miller to fuck him with every fiber of his being.

After the Nolan trilogy, I still don’t get why they started out the new films with an old/aging version of the character (that they knew they’d be using a lot, for many films to come).
