They say the interior still smells like MGD and Aquanet.

Another problem that could affect the success of both treatments is whether Americans will be able to access them. The Biden Administration has secured the delivery of 10 million doses of Paxlovid and has pledged to make them easily available and free.

1st gear: I know for a time the rental car companies were wreaking havoc on the used car market because they were snapping up all kinds of stuff due to the lack of availability of fleet vehicles (chip shortage), and the fact that they’d all sold their inventory when the first lockdown happened.

This is not news, though the accounting firm KPMG said in a new report that prices have gotten so far out of whack that negative equity is now an issue, and likely will be in the future, too. Basically, if you took out a loan to buy a used car in the past year or so, you might owe more than your car is worth.

We try this... I’ve gone to great lengths to explain to my children the reasons behind some of the decisions we make, answered questions, had a good conversation, only to literally have them say “but why can’t we do it?”...

I understand it just fine.  I just don’t think they’re going to magically elect anything close to a liberal who might be more environmentally/socially liberal, so it’s either Joe M, the Pretendacrat, or some guy who’s like “I’m just a regular republican who doesn’t give a shit about your long term health”... It’s

Now, it seems like the senator needs to decide who he wants to sit with.

This actually just sounds like a recipe for “collecting the contact information for a bunch of people in our target demographic under the guise of a contest”. Which is Ms. Yukon’s bread and butter.   At one point I did a quick count and something like 53% of the articles she posted were this type.  Low effort,

Should be #1...

Based on my limited knowledge, this is exactly how these types of viruses work for the most part. They don’t want to kill their host, because that means they too will also die.  (i’m not sure how stuff like Ebola works, but it’s clearly on a different plane given it’s mortality rate, etc)

So the cost of a typical consumer email list is $300-$400 per thousand. I’m guessing that they are expecting to collect significantly more contacts information than the 18,000 “winners”. The outlay in “digital rewards” for this program is $360,000, so if they were paying $400 per thousand, they’d need to collect

Obviously the “city” driving has something to do with it (stop and go, sitting in traffic, etc). I wouldn’t be surprised if he also was idling a LOT. I recall an old police officer friend of mine who basically said they were not allowed to shut off their cruiser during shift. So they had to let it idle wherever they

Are you guys going to do a meta-slideshow? like a slideshow of slideshows? Showing the most popular slideshows of the past year?

You know what looks smaller than it actually is when you’re outside in the wide open spaces? Trees...

I put the “ruining” in Pruning

While I see commenters clarifying this particular instance, the reality is that this is the new normal... Companies will continue to subtly push these types of “services” until they are ubiquitous and accepted.

Is this really a problem that people are having? When I go to the hardware store it’s usually a real challenge just to find an actual human being to help me with something...

This.  I call this my “Harbor Freight Rule”  :)
