I didn’t say that this was unavoidable, because it wasn’t. I’m just saying that we can’t go back in time and fix it. We have to deal with it the way that it is now.
While I don’t really agree with basically anything the current administration has done in response to this disaster, I can only imagine if the Mercy & Comfort were still docked in their home ports, that people would be clamoring “WHY DIDN’T WE USE THE RESOURCES!?!”

The app recently accidentally exposed the personal information of over 44 million users due to misconfigured Amazon Web Service (AWS) cloud severs (via Threat Post).
I feel like we’ve exited the “one team, one dream” phase of the pandemic, and we’ve reached the “calling the cops to report people who are not following social distancing guidelines” phase.
The problem we’re having is keeping the kids under control. They’re a little too young to regulate themselves at all, and with being cooped up, they are just building this reservoir of GO!
Signing up for a 4-7(!) year financial commitment while we’re at the very beginning of what will likely be a long period of economic uncertainty doesn’t seem like the best choice, despite whatever the incentives are.
I’ve been seeing a lot of these messages on FB and Twitter about the WIC thing. Honestly, I’m not sure why the program can’t significantly but temporarily ease the restrictions on what can be bought via WIC at this time.
I think the problem amounts to the fact that people are clamoring for information, and there isn’t a lack of it out there. What there is tho, is a whole lot of people who are posting shit on Facebook with no context, and without attribution. Many of them aren’t doing it with malice, but it’s really hard for people…

All these publicly traded companies are likely part of a very, very large number of portfolios that include pension and 401k plans. While I think that they are a bunch of shit heels, its in the best interest of a lot of people (not just the incredibly rich fuckers) for these businesses to remain in existence.
