It’s not worth it. Honestly... If someone is begging you not to go through insurance, likely they are the only person who is going to benefit from doing so.

Every_single_Person who I’ve ever heard get an offer of “cash instead of insurance” ALWAYS seems to have the same problem. The person offering the money is full of earnest confident promises when the event occurs. Then when you try to collect, they are shocked, SHOCKED! at the cost and/or evaporate into the ethereal…

I’m a big fan of suggesting movie soundtracks for people who want accessible instrumental classical music. Find movies that you really enjoy (particularly older, but certainly there are a lot of newer movies) and look for the soundtracks.

The answer? The answer, as always, is mass transportation, which we here in New York City have figured out, nay, perfected.

I looked into it. Basically it tracked (IIRC) how often you drive, how fast you accelerate, and how hard you stop (so if you’re following people too closely and driving too fast, you have to slam on the brakes).  

Any time an insurance company is asking you “How” something occurred, they are likely trying to figure out if it’s their responsibility for paying for it.
