Thankfully, there were HBCUs (historically black colleges & universities) where many elite black families sent their children. I don't know the numbers, but I would imagine there were some science majors in their student population.

So? This wasn't one of those instances where the woman fought back and beat up the dude. Domestic violence in black culture is not different from domestic violence in white culture. I get what you're meaning, but this has got to be one of the worst sayings on this. F*that.

I've been faced with this, just needing to run in, thinking "I just need milk!" But I painstakingly grabbed the munchkin (3 year old), and got the milk. I don't feel like it was too much more time once I got in, but of course, understanding how much time it takes to get them in and out of the car seat.

I'm thinking they're in incubator mode. I'm sure I read or was told that even with illnesses like the flu, you could be a carrier, without knowing. Of course, there are a lot more nastier "vaccine preventable illnesses" that can't be warded off by hand washing.
