I liked it too. Honestly, I can't recall a black woman getting this sort of attention, and being held up like she's (gasp) beautiful and fabulous for everyone. So I say, Bey it continue.

I wonder if there is really soda in that can, like how Mickey D's stuff in commercials is fake...
Yeah, you're off base.
Sometimes, it can't be helped. Summer programming and camps often have those age groups occupying the same spaces. Also, there could be a 13 year old freshman in HS with 18 year old (hopefully) seniors.
There are a whole lot more black people on TV too - AND black women with natural hair as well, which is friggin awesome. It's enough to make one (as a black person) nervous, like, is something up, should I be preparing for the end or something (looking both ways around my office).
To you to: The reaction of people like you are reason enough to keep on, bitchin' on about racism. So, thanks!
I knew, one day, black people would be born in the world of Downton Abbey. They just hadn't arrived yet from, that place where they were.
I agree. People jumped on Jillian Michaels for being honest about not wanting to be pregnant. I think it's great that women can be honest about what they view as the negatives about pregnancy, and being pregnant. Someone said to me that being pregnant is like having a parasite inside you sucking all of everything, all…
I was convinced by Aviator.
Actually, it's a pretty solid statement. It doesn't attempt to be absolute in the way your 100%, I've interviewed less privileged people who took their violence outside of their family and community, claims.
Is that what it'll take? How about this: if you add up the number of deaths across an entire city, like say, Chicago, you could get a class worth. Will it count then?
I have natural hair, and I don't do that. And I know other women with natural hair that don't either. And I imagine they know other women who don't do that...maybe you should expand your circles?
I recently learned this is more about the delicate nature of black hair, climate, and hair care. As more black women have embraced their natural hair as adults, more is being learned about the best way to care for black hair, which in turn has allowed many black women to grow their hair to be quite long. Actually many…
So what do we do? As a parent, I want to make sure my child is exposed to positive images of many types of people, and if that can't happen, I will make sure they know they exist, and call out and limit the lies they are continually exposed to. This type of response, the laissez-faire, it is what it is, is bull-shit.…
Never fails to amaze me how many experts of what is and is not racist feel the right to make definitive judgements about what isn't racist. For me, anyone who feels at ease with going to the N word like it's nothing, particularly if you're old, white, and male, I'm less likely to think deep down he has great respect…
Thank you for sharing this. It is great to hear people get called out for this and, as a black person, feels really awesome that white people were leading this effort. I will try not to think about the fact that it's 2012 and teenagers continue to be raised with these beliefs. It's best to think of the mountain as…
I'm sorry, but your standard for measuring talent is low. I don't think Minaj is talented. In the category of entertainment, I'm prepared to discuss the appeal. I would say that Christina Aguilera doesn't below in this group. She is a very good singer, as is Mariah Carey. Now, the question of whether or not they…
Awesome. Thank you.
Fail.
