Irving (two year rental), George, Leonard, and Butler have/had not publicly stated they would only re-sign with specific teams. They gave the standard “we’ll see, maybe” answer which would lead teams to think they had a shot at keeping them. Not saying you’re wrong, as teams and execs have a lot of hubris, but this

No, I don’t, but that wasn’t really my point. I guess I wonder if Demps is willing to take the Lakers’ pile of trash if there’s nothing better or if he actually believes the Pels deserve more for AD. He’s a one year rental for 26 of the 30 teams, so Demps will only get lowball offers from them. Do the Knicks, Bucks or

If Davis states he will 100% not sign a new contract with Boston (or anyone but the Lakers/Clippers), what then? Will the Pelicans take a worse offer from a team looking for just a 1 year rental rather than go crawling back to the Lakers?

Even more than that, if they allowed the Raiders to play at AT&T Park, it might affect some of their home revenue as neutrals looking to attend a game may choose to go to a Raiders game rather than Santa Clara. Sharing Levi’s eliminates that possibility.

Why should a restaurant need to give you and your party 30 additional minutes on a table because your friends’ flight or train was delayed? Why is that their problem to bear?

This seems pretty sketchy all around. What does Cleveland have to gain from this? Favored status if their new offer is the same as other teams? McCaw obviously benefits as now he can get more offers from teams. Is this just some pettiness from the Cavs against the Warriors?

Holy fuck, I didn’t know you could sweat through an undershirt, shirt, then the suit jacket as well.

The 4th goal was all on him. Trying to chest down the ball while being hounded by Roberto and Suarez was, at best, going to be a contested fight for possession even before he screwed it up. He overrates his own technical ability and that hubris has cost him in the past and will only increase as his athletic ability

Because the powers that be are in the exact same tier of people as Mary Bono (shit tier). They are all surprised when they get called out because they either (or both): 1) Actually believe that kneeling is about disrespecting the troops/flag or 2) Don’t believe their dog whistling is as transparent as it is. They live

Giving McGregor a fat contract after the bus incident proves how little White cares about anything but money. He injured two other fighters and Rose Namajunas is still emotionally traumatized by it. White saying anything about respect and decorum is peak gaslighting.

It’d be more similar to the Kawhi Leonard situation last year than Earl Thomas’s this year. Thomas is openly skipping practice (and getting fined probably), whereas Harrison is suggesting Bell lie to the coaching staff. It’s really difficult to definitively prove someone is not in pain or that his body part doesn’t

My family uses napa cabbage to stretch the filling so you can make more dumplings with less meat. Chinese chives are nice, but can be a stronger flavor. Chinese mustard greens offer a spicy note and some texture. I generally eyeball a 2:1 ratio of meat to vegetable in the filling e.g. 2 lbs pork to 1 lb cabbage

In this hypothetical NFL, owners wouldn’t give out signing bonuses. It’d be like the real world - at-will employment, show up and get paid. You can get fired at any time or quit when you want.

I think if the runner tries to grab the face mask it can be a penalty, but rules for the runner are a bit more lax because he only has the use of one hand.

Would never happen. Best fair solution players can hope for is mutually unable to terminate the contract. Imagine a bunch of players quitting their contract near the playoff roster lock deadline and signing for the best team at under market value to win a ring.

I found it telling he still didn’t use the r-word.

It doesn’t always, but it can have an effect, depending on your own political leanings. For instance, I’ve largely stopped watching the NFL the last couple of years for various reasons but mostly because of their shit stance on the protests and because my team, the Patriots, and its public faces - Kraft, Belichick

How? Small “c” conservatism seeks to preserve the status quo and is resistant to change. If you believe the current government to be overly corrupt and inefficient and wish to change it for the better, then it doesn’t seem like that idea comports with being conservative at all.

Why do you want that conservative label, though? To me, any conservatism is an attempt at maintaining the status quo. It sounds like you are anti-corruption and pro-efficiency in government. Me too! Compared to how the government is currently run, that seems like a radical change, not conservative!

For every position other than the best running backs, the franchise tag is used as it was designed. It’s similar to arbitration in baseball, i.e. we still own you but we’re forced to pay you near market value and, in the case of the franchise tag, it’s usually cost prohibitive past the initial one.
