Some mixed-use development is coming to that area, it’ll be a few more years but I know it’s in the works.

I was in Tuttle two years ago, it was like a ghost town. Meanwhile Easton is about the same age but still thriving. It’s interesting.

Developers are still eager to crank those out, so we’ll see. I think the key factor is having enough of an employment base.

I have no clue how Eastland is still kicking, but every time I drive by there, there are cars in the parking lots. It’s a mystery.

City Center mall was mainly there because they added it on to the site of the existing Lazarus department store, which had been a landmark since the mid 1800s. Some cities are having success already. Columbus, Ohio tore down their City Center mall and put in a very nice public space. Now they have events there, and it’s a hub for all kinds of cool food trucks. There are some upscale apartments going up around it as well, plus I think some office space and condos coming. And…

It’s so annoying when the choice is - do it myself, or nag him until he does a halfass job of it.
