“Non-Traditional Workplace Agreement”
That same guy goes on reddit years later with a post complaining about how everyone targeted him in the women’s studies class and gets 1000 likes.
A good lesson to teach boys at a young age: You don’t have to talk. Not saying anything and remaining silent is an option.
“I don’t understand why women wear high heels, I don’t find high heels sexy at all. You should wear flats.”
Joe Scarborough. That Guy in every women’s studies class who has to interrupt and say some version of, “If more women used birth control, the abortion rate would go down!” over and over again.
Yeah I had a guy today say “this is just a leftist media talking point” about a video where the President IS ON VIDEO SAYING THE THING I SAID HE SAID. It’s not a talking point! It’s a literal video! RIGHT THERE. Just click on it!
Really, my main takeaway from the WaPo story is how incompetent PV comes across as. It’s almost as if they have no understanding whatsoever of how basic journalism works. Like it didn’t occur to them that the paper might Google their mole’s name.
The McPhereson family isn’t poor. They have a house they own and can re-finance to send Lady Bird/Christine to “unnamed NYC college”. The father has a masters degree. The mother is concerned about the grocery bill and asks if it includes the son’s employee discount, but she can still pay it. They have internet in the…
You’re going on about this a lot. I can’t speak for other Americans but personally I did not feel like the “only” poor kid in my school, nor did I feel like the poorest. But there came a point when like, a chasm opened and you were either on the have side or the have not side, and I’ve met a lot of people who went…
If my parents made $85k together, a kid whose parents made $200k were “rich” to me. Does that compute? We’re not talking about millionaire/billionaire rich, just several rings higher, relatively speaking.
But rich doesn’t even need to mean the 1%. Even the 10% is richer by far than average - and that’s one in ten people. A vast portion of Americans don’t live in big cities, in smaller communities there are just fewer people, so neighborhoods are by nature much closer together. So, yes. It’s not that uncommon for less…
Since most families prioritize things like living in a good school district, yeah, it happens a lot. I grew up not at all wealthy but definitely better off than many, and I had friends who would get teased by fancier kids whose families had money for not just the education (public school, but you had to rent or buy in…
Pretty in Pink never worked for me. She lived in a house with her dad. It had a nice lawn around it and she had her own room. Her dad had a car. She drove her own car to school. She never seemed to be hurting for money in terms of food or household necessities. I very much get that kids want to have what their peers…
I think it’s financial straits, not straights.
GOP humor is the worst. This is why there are no big conservative comics - who would pay to see HIS speechwriters do standup?
Thank you so much for mentioning Dan Savage. I thought I was the only one who felt that way.
As we all know George is very well known for his socially progressive views. It wouldn’t surprise me if conservatives used this oppurtunity to falsely accuse a high profile liberal, and a gay man at that.
I’ve had many, many encounters like this. Men don’t like hearing no, gay or straight.
I want to say I’m surprised by this but having been sexually assaulted by a Gay Man at an LGBT+ club in the exact way Takei describes his own behaviour I’m really not.
