I wouldn’t say the problem is her roles, per se, but that the films she’s been in didn’t get traction with the audience. She was great in Widows and intriguing in Bad Times at the El Royale, even though the Bad Times character was the least interesting/tic-filled person in the entire film.

Imagine the good these people could do if they put their considerable time and energy into logging off, going outside, and engaging in adult conversation with someone they found attractive and/or interesting. The mind boggles.

Bloodline itself never wonders if Evan is a bad person, and the movie feels stifled by that lack of self-awareness.
