In classic Mazda fashion the vehicle looks great, particularly the interior.  However 35.5kwh battery pack seems small. I am guessing maybe 150-175 miles of range which is at best limiting if not downright uncompetitive in a US EV market.

We still pretending we don’t understand the V series is not a V car.

All remotely intelligent people have already called out the Silverado/Sierra split. Also, are we really going to keep ignoring that F-series is pulling like 5 different truck models into 1 category.

As it appears many people don’t understand how “wall street” works. Your share price is not just the current value of your company it is also the perceived future value of your company based off of your forecast. So if investors see you are likely not going to meet the forecast that they originally based your value on

UAW needs a big win this contract round. The corruption scandal has driven deep rifts into its base and seriously challenged its authority. They need a contract that shows that they are still looking out for the constituents best interest and not just stacking cash.

What if the whole “young buyer” thing is just marketing that is actually there to make older buyers feel like they are getting a young hip fun vehicle. Ultimately if you are selling luxury vehicles there aren’t many truly younger buyers that can afford it. All luxury cars inherently have an older population base just

It’s a Jeep thing

This article starts with a dumb statement. Ignoring that, the comparative numbers are labor rate are important as it highlights that UAW workers are far from the starving artists that they claim to be. In addition, that sort of labor rate for an unskilled workforce is completely unprecedented.

I believe someone already said it, but it is a marketing play. They need to maintain the illusion that the Sierra is not just a more expensive Silverado but a distinctly different vehicle.

Keri Menendez gets it. It is not that unions are bad its that the UAW is a garbage union who cares far more about their individual leaders (on both a local and corporate level) getting a check than they do about the well being of their constituents.

Had a renegade once as a rental car. Truly shit vehicle.

I feel that average transaction price increase is key here. Crossovers and SUVs typically carry a premium over their similar classed sedan counterparts. I think the trend towards these larger vehicles is giving consumers pause before buying. Furthermore increasingly long term auto loans is pressuring consumers into

I think its important to also call out the high speed rail really isn’t always the answer. Even in Europe where it is more prevalent it is often expensive and still can take a long ass time to go country to country (paris to vienna is still 12 hrs by rail or a 2 hour flight). I think in America we often get this idea

I don’t know what notice the guy wants... “hey in 2 weeks we are going to fire you”. If you are given a package then I think that the company is being as nice as they can given the situation.

This is the most quintessentially jeep moment I have ever seen.

They literally put switchbacks in their track layout. I mean good for you formula E, why the hell not.

As a former engineer during a vehicle launch I can say the short answer is that you probably don’t want those first cars off the assembly line.

Hey if you provided millions of dollars a year in tax revenue maybe they would do it.

Couple problems here. Just because a private lender wasn’t willing to provide the loan doesn’t mean that the canadian government did so out of the kindness of their hearts. Canadian government was just the only player in a position where they could lose revenue (taxes in this case) as a result of GM going under. A 0%
