If Call of Duty died as a franchise at this point I’d barely take notice.

I am sure it has nothing to do with them farting out a new COD each year for over ten years. 

I honestly prefer the M rating. I think it adds a little more heft to the combat, which can feel pretty mindless anyway, especially in a game where corpses disappear.

WoW writing has been a shitshow since Legion ended. We had the mad Titan Sargeras stabbing a planet with a bigass sword as the climax of an epic story campaign (try THAT for size, Thanos!), and in response...the Alliance and Horde started beating the shit out of one another.

portal 2 didn’t go much further than portal 1 mechanically. the physics gels weren’t revolutionary or anything. going through the phsyical history of aperture was neat, but that’s narrative

Valve needs to do something drastic with their IPs. Spin off an entirely separate company, hand over the rights to portal and half-life and let teams that actually want to make games handle things. I know that’s probably not feasible for a million different reasons, but it’s absolutely ridiculous how neglected these…

Appreciate the direct shoutout to Gabe. His focus on hardware is a frustrating departure when his teams lead the way in narratively driven games for so long. All we get from him is bizarre bare footed interviews from his mansion in New Zealand or whatever.

It’s a bit too heavy. Especially with the expansion. Once you get past the first couple hours the game lets you just play.
