I just spent the afternoon with a guy who sells WoW gold for a living. I mentioned that I've logged my fair share hours back when I was in a guild some years ago. He said "I knew women play video games too", but found the idea that I have done that unbelievable. He kept bringing it up once in a while because for some

Now playing

See what happens when women in gaming try to talk about their experiences:

You do realize that you just validated the whole point of this article you say sickens you right?

There is a general duty of nondisclosure or of at the very least respectful disclosure. Cisgender people have a duty and the responsibility to listen to trans folks about trans narratives. Just as white people have a responsibility to listen to PoC about their narratives. Or men have a responsibility to listen to

And how does a person respond to something like this? How does a woman who started reading this website as a teenager, who used to seek refuge here when her ideas about gender and equality were shot down by her friends, peers, and sometimes even family, who for some reason imagined this place as being a center for

So funny. I always got more play when I was "in between" jobs. I also had more time on my hands. But I was always kind of surprised that my joblessness didn't bother men more.

I also question why vibrators are so expensive. VIBRATORS FOR THE PEOPLE.

Meanwhile Zimmerman still runs free, even after proving himself to be a goddamn psycho!

She went to prison for defending herself against men who were physically assaulting her.

I call bullshit.

I protest at the lack of "lady parts are gross."

Forgot about SLUTZ and their free birth control. Oh, and abortions (a.k.a. MURDEEEER).

This can't be right. I don't see moochers anywhere. Or does that fall under taxes as "wasting MY tax dollars (that only I pay.)

Not just in gaming, but in many circles of nerd culture. In cosplay, anime, comic books, you name it - women are having to explain and justify their place within the culture. It's not easy.
Like for instance - this cosplayer (in case of small print):

We get a single anime with fanservice. Clearly equality is here -.-

To the few "men are misrepresented too" posters I've seen, and to those who will no doubt post similar arguments, please listen to the following very carefully:

Wasting milk, sitting on the counter, and putting her dirty socks near the utensils?

Nothing stinks up the men's locker room in a gym more then Axe. So, so pungent and strong, yuck. Do these men really think women like it? I assume women don't but men believe they do.

"Gender Bender Day" should be called what it really is: "Macho Guys Dress Up Hyper-Femme and People Have a Good Laugh Because It's a Huge Joke to all the Cis People Day".
