Do you see photos as well? because I actually kind of like this idea, except that if there are no photos, I don’t know that I could deal with the disappointed looks on peoples faces when they realize I’m their date. At least with tinder or Okc, I only get messages from people who think I’m at least marginally…

The article didn’t explain it very well, but currently the “While in use” option is only available if the app makes it available, so an app might choose not to offer you that option. In iOS 11, it’s available for every app no matter if the developer offered it or not.
