To add to Michael's reply, I'll compare the two.. Photoshop (the full version) is for image-specific edits such as filters, layers, warping, and hundreds of features I can't think of right now. Lightroom is for faster photo editing of simple things like color, vignette, exposure, white balance, sharpening, etc.…

It's a complete rip of the idea. Shame they couldn't (or didn't?) patent it.

I was hoping I'd see this on the list. I swear and live by this software. I very rarely ever open the full Photoshop program as Lightroom can do most basic photographic enhancements and corrections. For those who are unsure, go download the free 30 day trial from Adobe's website. Well worth it!
