Hey Uncle Sam, how you doin'?

It was Russia's reaction, and it sure came in handy. There is no doubt about the support though. There has been a five fold increase in US diplomatic freight into Ukraine when the revolution started, and the newest 5 dollar bills suddenly appeared in the currency exchange shops. A revolution of this size needs

Before the invasion the EU and US financially and politically supported a violent revolution in a sovereign state. So there's that.

If you read closely than you would notice that I didn't claim anything even close to that, you judgmental fool.

Belarus is called the last dictatorship in Europe, and is very close to Russia. I'm sure there will be conflicts sooner or later, seeing how both the EU/NATO and Russian sides behaved during the Ukraine crisis.

Let me guess, you're american?

There are a few more exceptions, depending on the scale (Penske didn't make his ginormous wealth with racing primarily): Ross Brawn, Eddie Jordan, Peter Sauber, Toto Wolff, Hendrick, Olaf Manthey. So I wouldn't say racing isn't able to generate a profit, but you are right in that in most cases it is a marketing tool

Because most racers aren't business men, and therefore have to employ rather unconventional methods to run their operations. At least that's my guess.

Dauer is from my town, so at some point there was a 962 driving through it, which is pretty fascinating to think of. Btw, Mr. Dauer went to jail for tax evasion.

Awesome. I'd love to go to Imola or Monza, but the hotel prices always go batshit whenever there's a race in town. Same thing in Germany, it's the only thing holding me back from my planned WRC visit.

Yeah, 'Murica is invading ELMS with the Viper and Corvettes. Also the BMW Z4 sounds exciting.

Some raceteams are also looking to race GTE Vipers in the fast growing ELMS. (And Selleslagh Racing Team announced a full season with the old C6 Corvette too!)

I don't think that he will "die" anytime soon, but I fear that he'll be an unconscious potato for the rest of his life. Sounds harsh but that's the most likely scenario, and that sucks.

Exchange the rolls with a 70s Jag XJ6 and you've got my perfect daily driver.

There's a good reason for that. Renault didn't have the same budget to invest as Mercedes did. Carlos Ghosn basically said that he would allow them 50 Million €, the rest would have to come from customers, which is why 4 customer teams were so important for Renault as they in total had to refinance the V6 development.

Mercedes engines are significantly cheaper than Renault's V6, but they had to pay some sort of fine to get out of the Renault contract.

It will happen.

Maybe, that's a whole different scenario. As I said, if we're talking about consecutive laps I don't see it going more than ~40 minutes. The Audi R8 E-Tron managed to do two 8 minute Nordschleife laps and then the battery was drained, Tesla doubling that would be huge.

Two hours of nonstop trackday driving? I don't think that will happen anytime soon, not if Audi and Mercedes can make two laps of the Nordschleife with their 400k E-cars.
