I’m pretty sure I’m the one who posted the slate article.  None of sources I have seen have broken out private helicopter travel from private air travel.  But I wouldn’t get on a private fixed wing aircraft, let alone a helicopter.

No there’s nothing radical about it. When I lived in New York and working in investment banking senior people would take helicopters in to work from Westchester. And lot of people had their own planes. Plenty of people would take a helicopter to the airport it’s only like $150 or something.

You’re not very smart are you? You’re making the worst possible argument for your position. Most people have cars and ride in them on a daily basis, very few people ride in helicopters ever so the relative number of people killed in their operation is not indicative of anything.

right but the reason he had a helicopter in the first place was because he flew back and forth to the Laker’s practice facility and to the staples center for games.  Obviously, he was retired now.

I mean they are what they are. If you need to medivac someone or deploy troops into battle that’s one thing.

Not in a private helicopter it’s not. Flying in a fixed wing aircraft on a commercial carrier, that is safer than driving.

Fixed wing aircraft and even then, those are the commercial carriers. Private jets are a whole other story, those things go down a lot, as do government planes.

I mean he could have just lived closer to work if he didn’t want such a long commute.
