Yeah, I read it. I don’t know what that means. NYU’s ID policy was “loosely enforced” too considering I came in and out everyday for almost a month and didn’t have an ID. It was still my fault when they hassled me.

Is it? To me the article seemed to be about a student being stopped and harassed because he was black and attending a prestigious school and school employees thinking he was homeless rather than a student. Again, similar to other incidents like at Smith or Yale.
Yeah, if you look at the other comments on the page, I have said at least 5 times that calling 4 guards and physically handling him was entirely unnecessary. I was only referring to the fact that they followed him in the library and asked to see his ID.
If you actually read what I wrote there, it was the first summer that I didn’t get an ID for a month or so.
First, fuck that it’s the student’s fault for not turning to see what random person was making noise in his direction.
It’s not the student’s fault security was nuts, that’s on them.
Fuck that noise. The show is not good.
Yeah, that’s what I said. Though, NYU and Columbia are the only universities I have visited and/or lived at that require an ID. I work at University and am very frequently on the campus of another which is definitely “urban” and neither one of them requires IDs for anything. I would be surprised if most students even…
He fucking knew who I was. There were maybe 5 black guys in the whole fucking building. And as I said, no, I wasn’t really mad at him since it was my fault for not having an ID.
Yeah, so I’ve said several times below that there was no reason they needed so many security guards nor was there any reason for them to manhandle him.
First let me say, I probably could have stated that better. Obviously their response, calling 4 officers and put hands on this kid was excessive. I didn’t intend to imply that their response was appropriate.
Obviously the 4 cops and putting hands on the guy was unnecessary.
The question I have is how did they approach him if they treated him like a threat from jump then it’s their fault for needlessly escalating the situation. Four cops?
I mean honestly... this is kind of the student’s fault. I lived in the NYU dorms two different summer when I was an intern and the campus security at NYC schools is like this and totally nuts. I remember the first year I lived there, I didn’t bother getting an NYU ID (...cause... fuck that noise) the same security…
yeah not really. There are only a few advertisers interested in marketing to 75 year olds with remedial educations and limited ambulatory capacity. That’s why it’s all adverts for gold nuggets, hover rounds and catheters.
This dude clearly not in possession of all of his mental faculties.
I mean it’s golf. My dad plays golf like everyday and he’s 74. The oldest person ever win a major was 5 years older than Woods.
Get the fuck outta here he’s gotta shave that shit off. That hairline is the mausoleum of all hope and desire.
I don’t think it’s the hipster who aren’t vaccinating.
Nah, he’s pretty smug, he just wasn’t wearing the hat this time.
