i dont think a 7.85" iPad is distinct enough from a 9.7" iPad for Apple to seriously consider it. Neither of those sizes have a giant portability advantage over the other. depends on its capabilities. Everything's been rumors, and I havent found tablets to be much more use than e-readers to be honest, but unless they add some new functionality i dont mind doing without a tablet. Of course, a $199 tegra-3 device is tough to argue with as well.
