If someone who was not a police officer engaged in this exact behavior they would be going to jail right now for decades. Can someone explain to me like I’m 5 years old why this officer is not going to jail?

I can imagine.... Rolling coal, Lets Go Brandon stickers. Truck nuts and a completely clean and unused tow hitch
Explorer also costs like 50%-75% more than a Maverick. You should be comparing Maverick margins to Escape & Bronco Sports which are more comparable in both size, performance, and price.
The rear seat of the Maverick could be prosecuted as a war crime in the Hague.
No one has said “no one wants a compact truck” more than Ford. Since before 2011 when T6 Ranger was introduced. Developed for global markets, Ford determined Ranger was not needed or wanted in USA and Canada and canceled it and closed Twin Cities assembly. No one has a truck need that F-150 can’t fill was Ford’s…
Yea, it’s not hard to understand why people would want this. You have to give credit to Ford for executing it so well, but the idea was always solid.
The unseen danger to road safety is attitude. You’ve got 90% of the country thinking they are awesome drivers and everyone else is the enemy. I put that at number 1. After that, you may be right. I’m not sure about all the warnings and lane centering and such. People clearly rely on them too much. I’m seeing a lot…
I believe their hybrid powertrain has a pretty good track record in other vehicles.
Becasue they barely make any money on them (supposedly). They’d rather allcoate more resources to making more F-series.
I’m sure the margins aren’t huge, but the higher trim levels are probably good and you’re getting young people into the brand.
Don’t forget that Ford’s only ‘car’ is a Mustang.
Yea, it’s so dumb.
And this was after years, maybe even decades of magazines, manufacturers, and who knows who else had been saying, “nO onE WAnts A SMAll pIcK Up TrUck!”
Maverick hybrid is the best deal in cars, period. Fuel economy better than an economy sedan, for price less than or equal to that economy sedan. With all the room and practicality of a 4 door truck.
Heh…this is way too expensive, and not nearly rusty enough for DT.
Just goes to show that when you make an affordable, practical vehicle the people will come.
You had me until I read there’s a 4-banger under the hood instead of that rock-solid I6. There’s such a thing as a vehicle’s engine being too stressed with too much load of the time (car just weighs too much) by being undersized, and I bet this 4-banger always gasps.
Detroit may not be a desirable location like the cities you mentioned, but that’s not the biggest issue. NY and LA have both already have auto shows and they suck in comparison to NAIAS.
As a Detroiter, fuck you.
