So these aren't the droids I was looking for?

Hopefully this plan turns out better than "The Martian Chronicles" or the original "Total Recall."

And why was this hearing even necessary? If Starfleet had already admitted Data, doesn't that mean they had already decided he was sentient and not just a robot? After all they don't accept cats and dogs...highly evolved sentient descendants of cats and dogs but not people's pets.

The episode with Lal seems to partially ignore the outcome of this trial. If Data is a sentient being, it stands to reason that he has the right to raise his own child. Otherwise Starfleet comes across as an organization that just ignores its own JAG office's rulings.

The space cowboy makes a weird sort of sense. Han Solo is a outer space gunslinger, and Mos Eisley is a frontier town straight out of a Spaghetti Western.

Avatar would have been better if Cameron had given both sides equal weight. All he had to do was throw in a few lines of dialog about how people back on Earth were suffering because of a lack of unobatinium. That's the same problem I had with Titanic. The conflict would have been more interesting if the rich dude

I actually expect that sort of thing to proposed by the Southern "Christian" GOP any day now.

Stick a thermometer out the window.

Then look out the window in 30 minutes.

That picture of Kaneda looks almost 40... a bit old for reform school, don't ya' think?

Have you heard of the Manhattan Project? Setting Akira in Neo-Manhattan would allow the filmmakers to make allusions to the nuclear tests conducted in Manhattan in the 1940s. And you know plenty of Asians and Hispanics live in New York, right?

Why do some commenters assume that the aliens would be wiser than us? If they are in way similar to us they have gone through similar phases and they've probably made similar mistakes.

She's using the word Nordic in an old fashioned racial sense for blue-eyed, light skinned blonde not in the political/geographic sense.

Threepio will fall to the darkside. Artoo will rape Princess Leia. The whole thing will turn out to be a dream Lucas had in 1974 after too much LSD and peyote.

It looks lame, like a haunted house movie instead of a UFO movie. Where's the sense of awe and wonder or even any real existential dread? Instead the characters seem mildly inconvenienced. Also I hate that style of trailer where they show you scenes in between flashes of black. That shit gives me a headache.

That's what we grown-ups call a broad generalization.

So the gingerbread man is gonna dunk himself in the milk till he's mushy? Sounds about right.

Maybe there is something wrong with your niece and nephew. Too much pie or CGI rubbish.

Where are all the female scientists? Where are the other branches of science besides astronomy and physics? This is more like all the scientist the creator of the project about. It's missing a lot of greats.

I'm sold. This'll be one of two webshows I watch regularly. The other being Blood and Chrome.
