I refuse to read anything by KJA. His writing is atrocious and his plot devices are the stuff of twelve year olds. The second book of his "Suns" series was the first book I ever threw in the garbage.

It really pulls it together and creates that special rural ambience.

Horrible? You are a horrible person for even suggesting that! I thought it was brilliant and very funny.

You might want to keep that "fascination" quiet around your co-workers...

One of the two hosts is actually a very accomplished stunt man and a so so movie director. [www.imdb.com]

Most people in Denmark would probably use the name Brian... Sorry all you Brians out there. Otherwise maybe the word "bonderøv".

I admit to having a small case of goosebumps. But then again - we all remember what it was like when Dean Kamen finally revealed his life altering device the Segway...

Exactly. The three dots were supposed to indicate an ironic question. Clearly my ruse didn't really work. :)

I agree they are horrible horrible phones. Why on earth didn't they do a second production line of touchscreen phones...

I've just been to Istanbul, Turkey and it seems half the people there used Blackberrys. Are they doing better in Europe in general? I've seen a lot in France and Spain as well.

I see some Chris Foss in these.

Heeeyooooo!

Not pissed. A bit disappointed. You could have included Peter F. Hamilton. But I am so so happy you included Alastair Reynolds.

Agreed. Remarkable book - especially at that time.

I agree that he should be on there. But I still think his Pandora's Star/Judas Unchained books was his best yet. NIght's Dawn was a great trilogy, but it had me wincing a couple of times. And the guy should definitely get laid more...

Awesome book. I might read that again actually.

I am reposting a video which another poster already posted. Thorium is the solution. Wind, wave and solar energy is fine as additional energy - but the LFTR thorium reactor is unparalleled.

This. The Chinese are already building them. Why aren't we??

Yes exactly. But we have to start building the Liquid Fluoride Thorium Reactor - not the stupid version the Indians are building. The Chinese are of course way ahead of the west here. Their first LFTR's will be ready soon.
