The Beans, Oh the Beans!

Deleted because my comment posted three times for some reason. This has been happening all day Jez, wtf?

I couldn't get through enough of the show to hear that, I am basically going off of stuff online. The whole show seems sad and a little creepy.

According to the internet they are from Georgia.

I could only get through like 5 minutes of it, but that part stood out from the rest of the horror.

If the mom is really 32 then she was only 14 when she had the oldest one. In and of itself it's not unheard of, but the dad would have been 22. Where is the outrage about the obvious statutory rape?

I suppose, though if she is telling the whole truth (which I doubt) then she technically wasn't telling her to stop, just to cover up. I don't know what the exact parameters of the law in New Hampshire are but in many states, including New Hampshire, it's completely legal to be topless as a woman in public.

It's really hard to say, the pub owner says she was fully exposed, but the position she was describing seemed unlikely for a seasoned breastfeeder like the woman seems to be. I'm guessing the truth is in the middle and they were both wrong.

I just watched the local news story and while they say she had her breast out, I can also see that she is clearly wearing a nursing top. The pub owner claims her entire breast was covering the baby and the baby was on the table; as a former nursing mom I can't imagine that would be a comfortable position for either

I've heard conflicting stories, but from what I got she was covered up, wearing a nursing shirt and bra with only part of the breast she was using exposed. I don't think women should be forced to wear those cumbersome nursing covers in public just to appease people who are uncomfortable with a partially exposed breast.

I know they have those fabric covers that some women use in public but they are cumbersome and the baby gets hot and sweaty, especially if there isn't good AC

I don't understand the problem that some people have with publicly nursing. I have seen numerous women do it in public and they are almost always discreet and covered up. Unless a woman takes her top off and insists on wearing tasseled pasties on the boob not being used I can't imagine what the problem is.

I agree 100%, and I have three kids. I had my kids because it was what I wanted and I knew I could do it and still live my dreams. My sister is positive she doesn't want any children and I think she is awesome for knowing what she wants and sticking to her guns. There is too much pressure on women about this subject.

I agree so much with you. Fundamentalist religious movements like Quiverfull are definitely cult-like and I have a lot of compassion for the women AND men who get caught up in it.

This is one of the reasons I am glad I had my children. That wasn't why I had them, but it's definitely a perk that I have three little compassionate, secular humanist kids to counteract some of the hatred and ignorance in America.

Oh god, I did too! Why do we do this to ourselves. The scary part is it looked EXACTLY like I thought it would. I'm going to be doing kegels for weeks!

Competitive cheering is so much different than traditional cheering that I don't even think it should share the name.

Well, I went to an all girls catholic school so cheer leading was a bit different for us than regular schools. I doubt I would have been interested if I had been forced to rah rah rah for a boy's football team. My school's team was all competition with other girl's catholic schools and no cheering at games.

I am addicted to unsweetened iced tea! I think it's so refreshing for some reason.

Fountain soda is only better at certain places, like mom and pop pizza places and gas stations, or Friendly's.
