Piz is the worst.

I know this is mostly humorous/rhetorical but I'm going to wade in anyway.

And the white washing (in more ways than one) begins. All traces of this have been deleted from the Pink Pony Facebook page.

To be absolutely fair the Appropriation Culturation title/hash tag was started by Christina Fallin's band mate, Steven Battles (AKA Steven Pony, Chrome Pony). He is also the one listed on the press release so it would seem she's not the sole one who has made an egregious error in judgment.

Protip: When the culture you're appropriating from steps and and says "Hey, that's disrespectful. Please don't do that." the best recourse is to listen, not bury your head in the sand and ban Natives from commenting.

Forbid they actually take responsibility for their actions.

The commenting on this began last night, when the photo was posted to Facebook. It was entitled "Appropriate Culturation". I have 5 pages of screenshots of negative comments and feedback, all of which were deleted by Pink Pony, leaving nothing but glowing praise.

I'm going to qualify this comment by saying I'm a POC so I'm not whitesplaining but these numbers would look different if they included the stats for Best Supporting categories. Four of the last ten winners in supporting actress have been WOC. The numbers go down in supporting actor (two out of ten), though I do

McConaughey is going to take it over Ejiofor for a combination of the comeback and his overall body of work. I believe he'll get a bump from his work on True Detective as well as his five minutes in The Wolf of Wall Street.

I apologize. You're correct. I was getting caught up in the definition of malice, which to me means doing something with intent to harm. But in defamation, according to The Supreme Court, it is stating as truth statements that are false or in reckless disregard of the truth. It's this "actual malice" that Oberst has

Oberst, as a public figure, does have to prove malice and that Faircloth commented with knowledge the statement was false, or issued the statement with reckless disregard as to its truth. So, even if he can demonstrate that the story is false (big if) in order to win the suit he has to prove it was done specifically

I'm a lifelong Catholic as well and I've not heard it either. My mother, who is staunch, has even voiced her support for civil unions. I know it's not marriage but for someone as hardline as she is to entertain that thought, well, it says a lot about shifting attitudes.

This is amazing, though I have a slight quibble. Susan Sarandon's 1996 gown was actually copper and it matched her hair because of course it did.

EXACTLY.

I just want a keyword filter that will allow me to go onto social media during Shark Week and not have a panic attack.

Essentially, yes, but it was the way it was done, ostensibly in Suri's voice. It was, at times, hilarious when it wasn't being mean for means sake.

This is excellent news, though I'll admit part of me is pouring one out right now about the probable Old Yeller'ing that this is going to eventually do to Suri's Burn Book.

I have to disagree. I don't want this to pass. No way. SB 1070 passed and was challenged all the way up to the Supreme Court and is still law (with some modifications).

This feels like an ad campaign by someone who misunderstood hashtags. #milklife #yolo #swag

She'll sign it, just like she signed SB 1070, requiring us brown folk to present our papers to prove we belong in America.
