is it bad how much fun I had doing the math to add more #y i k e s to Bellamy?

I think we've heard mention of "station heads" and like, lower down people who are being delegated to by the main Arkadian leadership — but I think this week we're in for a lot more power consolidation by Pike.

Love these reviews almost as much as I dislike the pairing of Callie and Penny? (which is a lot!!!!)

I think based on Octavia's age at the start of the show (has to be like 16/17 when they landed) and how old Bellamy was when she was born (seemingly like 6 or 7 or 8), that makes Bellamy like 22-25 upon landing.

Does it help that in-show Bellamy is in his 20s / like 25 and a goddamn adult compared to the rest of the u-18 delinquents… that he slept around with and took control over for his own needs when he got to the ground…?

literally how all wars start ;)

I think this is the case, in addition to the camp being on lockdown so no one could get out to warn them / I don't think they knew the murderous extent of what really was going to happen. Also, the probability of Indra defying the Commander's orders of staying put despite warnings?

Yeah, I saw someone sum it up as: The only difference with this massacre compared to the culling etc, is that this time Bellamy's finger was physically on the trigger

Agreed. I know it's such a root of his character, but it continues to lead him to making short-sighted selfish costly decisions.

But again, the killing of those original Delinquents was sparked by a perceived act of war by the kids accidentally burning down of a village (because of Bellamy!)… and then Jasper fucking up the original peace talks.

Maybe I'm wrong, but I think that some of those points actually strengthen the idea that Bellamy sees Octavia as someone who is/was weak. A dependent forever. And while he starts to see Octavia's growing strength, I think he may more associate that with Lincoln personally —individuals— than the grounder culture at

I can agree on the rushing to an extent, but I'm not surprised by it based on the show's history of burning through material AND because of Bellamy as a character. I'm more flustered by how quickly the whole ark voted for Pike, but like, fear is a huge manipulator throughout history and the Arkadians have a history

It was split, but definitely dangerous. Half that plot was him being in danger with Arkadians who were quick to violence (someone gets shot while fighting over Finn), and out in the woods too. But again, I more meant the leadership / main characters (Abby, Bellamy, Raven, even Clarke was stunned but tried to save him,

Dude. Skaikru voted a murderous xenophobe into power, murdered 300 peaceful DEFENDERS of Skaikru, and left the message "SKY PEOPLE REJECT THE COALITION" … those are atrocious acts of war beyond disloyalty. It goes beyond personal fealty and head over heart yadayadayada and in the end, Lexa still listens to Clarke as

Hmmm… yeah I don't think it's jealousy, I think he just simply never understood who she is since she left the floorboards. But for me, knowing that has been consistent since S1 helps me see how he could do this in spite of Octavia.

Yeah but we have the benefit of truly understanding that as viewers with a better perspective. A lot of the Arkadians were willing to go to war to avoid punishing Finn.

I think it's an extra 30 or so Farm station left (they had what, 63 plus the team we first met Pike with, but they lost 35…) I think it's kind of this power of machine guns given to people with trauma / no training / no remorse. But again, the materials they are using are finite, and they alluded to that a lot by

I honestly don't think they even had time to explain what had happened because Pike was in full spin-for-fear mode with everyone around him. Maybe? Like, proper channel was to let the council in on it, then have a solid plan, then tell everyone at camp they were safe… but Pike started the plot like right off the bat.

Eh. It's totally in Bellamy's character to want to save Clarke on a different day, have her "reject" him/his people (in his eyes) in Polis, and just add it all to the pile of resentment and pain that he's been holding and building for 5months and now converts into "motive" for his emotional murderous actions.

Bellamy has never been down with Octavia finding herself in Grounder traditions, he simply never understood it. He also has rarely seen her as capable of making rational choices and decisions for herself (or the group) despite time and time again, showing that she is smart and rational.
