Lynch has been obsessing over making a movie where tiny people disappear into the carpet for forty years, as evidenced by this excerpt from his unrealized Dune II script. Wired Magazine recently dug up and reviewed the script treatment David Lynch drafted in 1984, and it’s pretty crazy. I don’t know anything about Snoo

My girlfriend (now wife) and I saw DAZED AND CONFUSED in theaters on opening weekend in ‘93, and based on the advertising we assumed it would be a cheesy B-movie goof, a throwback to ‘80s teen sex comedies. I left thinking that it was one of the greatest, most perfect movies I had ever seen. It came out on VHS just a

Came here to say the exact same thing. The only people who find “Evil Dead” funny, I think, are the ones who saw “Evil Dead 2" and/or “Army of Darkness” before the original, and assumed the first film must also be wacky. It is not. I vividly remember discovering “Evil Dead” on VHS in 1986 and being really affected by

I’m with you 100% — I enjoyed the ‘21 DUNE, but didn’t find it nearly as otherworldly and alien as Lynch’s DUNE. I saw it opening night in the theaters in ‘84, and it made me a superfan for life, as evidenced by the tattoo sleeve on my left leg...

Are you really suggesting that what James Franco is accused of is somehow less problematic than Aziz Ansari’s situation? Ansari was basically guilty of being sexually pushy on an otherwise consensual date, and the shoddy reporting of the gossip story essentially doomed the now-defunct website that published it.

“Pssst....act!”

As a 47 year old male who grew up in the Philadelphia area: can confirm. Prism was the shit. Friday nights were made for Emmanuelle and Lady Chatterly movies.

WB’s plan to get this movie in theaters during the summer was flawed from its inception.

Bonus points for going for a deep cut with SOCIETY. Definitely not the horror movie I’d expect to see spoofed here, and therefore my favorite of the bunch.

As a big fan of Herbert’s DUNE series (and a committed supporter of/apologist for Lynch’s adaptation), I am ridiculously excited for Denis Villeneuve’s take on the novel. I don’t know if I’ve ever had more anticipation for a film in my life (okay, I was pretty hyped to see EVIL DEAD 2 in the theaters back in 1987),

“Did you hear the bad news about Mr. Peanut? He was a salted.

You and I are are probably the only ones here old enough and close enough to Philadelphia to get the Captain Noah reference.

To be pedantic: this was not technically a Sid & Marty Kroft production, to my knowledge. They designed the costumes, but the program was produced by Hannah-Barbara, and mostly featured traditional HB animated shorts like Secret Squirrel and Hillbilly Bears alongside brief live-action interludes with the costumed

According to The Sopranos’ Wikipedia page, Tony was born in 1959, so if the film is set in the 1960's—and since Michael Gandolfini is clearly not a child—I can only imagine it must fast forward or otherwise make its way up to at least the 1970's, in which case we may see some other familiar figures returning.

My last name is Fraga. I grew up in the late 70's/early 80's. As you can imagine, I got this a lot:

Halloween 2011: when my (then) 9 year old son was obsessed with Batman comics and the character of Bane, my five year old daughter and I decided to help him out by forming a triumvirate of Gotham villains.

The soundtrack to “Phantom of the Paradise” is sheer bliss. I love most of Paul Williams’s work, but that is the fan’s finest moment, for my money.

Hosted Camp Blood Part III, a weekend long event at the Mahoning Drive-In in the PA mountains: two nights of camping themed horror movies in 35mm (FRIDAY THE 13TH, MOTHER’S DAY, SLEEPAWAY CAMP 2, etc.) on a drive-in screen in the middle of the woods, with audience members also camping out on the drive-in grounds for

Agreed, it is really counter-intuitive and weird. But hey, I’m commenting under my actual old username, so I guess it could be worse...
