Studies have shown similar things for female patients- doctors are more likely to assume women are “just being dramatic” and dismiss their concerns. Not sure why it’s so difficult for some medical professionals to just take a patient’s pain/concerns/symptoms seriously, regardless of race or gender.

Im white and straight and suffer from mental illness with the same results. Why does this have to be about race? Everyone with a mental illness is treated badly let’s stop making everything about race.
