Front end/grille styling trends are ridiculous.

90s Cars: We don’t actually need all of the grille area for our weak, lethargic engines, let’s do something unique, get rid of the grill altogether and hide the air intake slots under the bumper and elsewhere.

Yea this is by no means driven by thermal design. They are choosing to do this.

Hello, friend.

TINFOIL HAT TIME

It keeps getting bigger and bigger.

Why does it need grille bagels instead of just grille mesh? That is not attractive.

Neutral: The "new" normal huh? Orwellian nightmare I believe.

The new one is missing a pedal and a lever.

Never, ever use this slide-show format again.

Just call it ‘Z’ and be done with it.

How much you want to bet they’ll do an amazing job and design a beautiful car, only to be forced by higher-ups to add that ridiculous chrome bucktooth corporate grill to the front right at the end. Because B R A A A A N D.

Everyone on here complaining that it is going to just be an updated FM platform.

Current Z while being old, still great value for money - $30k for 332hp. That was always the moto behind a Z (except Z32 I guess).

The federal government gets to set the standards for car emissions, not California. So despite this being a really stupid hill to die on, it is not about car emissions its about breaking California’s hold on the rules. CARB must die is the entire point because Washington DC doesn’t like upstarts.

Here’s the thing...

The base Abarth in the states is a 160 HP version of the 1.4 turbo with straight exhaust after the cat. I think they’re irresistibly and irrationally fun to rip around urban streets although they’re definitely not particularly serious or well conceived daily transportation for most people.

The base 500 has been a 130hp turbo for several model years now in the US. They are more fun than a barrel of monkeys - same power as an Abarth with Sport Mode off, and more than enough to have fun. And they are silly cheap brand new. I do agree that the turbo motor should have been in the base Pop from the get-go in

I disagree wholeheartedly without reservation on number 3. It’s harder to have more fun in a new car for under 25k. If you don’t enjoy an Abarth you have no soul and no capacity for fun.

I’m sorry to pile on but yes, the slideshow format is complete crap.

Everyone who said “Fuck this slideshow” gets a star.
