da fuq?  This is the rust belt because everything is rusty.  Cars, abandoned buildings, any metal left outside.  What am I missing.

Yeah, when “that certain crowd” weighs in with the physics of the thread torque and the offense to humanity to use a little anti-seize of some sort?

Because it is virtually the same car. Styling, wheels, and upgraded seats change nothing about the drive feel. They can make you like it more, sure. And I’ll agree the the G37S is a better looker than the G37X. Also, bigger brakes and an LSD doesn’t really change the feel of the car in any real way unless you are

If it’s a toaster, then the “S” is a waffle iron. They are the same chassis and the same VQ engine with the same power output. Main difference is the X is slightly heavier due to the AWD, and the S got stiffer springs, shocks, and the option for a manual trans.

Yeah I know manual makes things better, but the X was so

FACT!

Nail on the head there. I did pick up a 14 Passat late last year and it’s actually pretty nice overall. The chassis is really good aside from needing firmer dampers. But I can’t stand how all these newer cars put the seats higher and have lower rooflines. I had more generous head room in B5 Passats in the mid 2000s.

Had one.  Good car, not amazing, not bad, but good car.  Decently fun, easy to drive, engine drone at high RPM was a bit annoying (the 37HR isn’t a great motor at high RPM), but good car.

Have you test driven or borrowed one? I was pretty underwhelmed.

Agree on all points.  It’s just not cheap enough yet.

Go test drive a G37S. I’m betting you’ll be disappointed. I drove a WRX, WRX STi, SRT-8 Chally, G37S, and an SS within a day or two of one another. The Infiniti was a plasticky yawn fest.

Well said!

Complaints abound about loss of RWD, NA engines, sticks, screens in dashboards and cheap performance cars. This thing is all of that.

It’s because it went from an interesting competitor in the sports car market, to outdated, now to a value, because very single other sports car like it is either defunct or WAY too expensive for someone in a regular tax bracket. If you want a sports car with similar stats, similar feel and similarly equipped you are

I briefly considered either a 370Z or gasp, an Infiniti G37S. Then I saw a lowered 370Z with a faux carbon fiber hood and giant spoiler near my office. And I remembered if I was gonna go full pre-midlife crisis this car exists...

Or, the EV Cult guys using Impossible-to-Back-Up scenarios to thread some sort of “better” path through the swiss cheese.

That is because EV’s are pointless and do nothing to reduce pollution.

This just comes down to the fact that the country isn’t using power, and these coal plants are not turned on unless really needed. In a few months when power spikes are a thing again, people will freak out thinking that coal is on an incline after a few month decline. Its all about how you pick your data range, you

I don’t mind some level of fake vents. It’s styling. Even my beloved Honda S2000 AP2 has fake intakes on either side of the front bumper intake.

Pretty much everything that everyone gripes about today’s car styling—all cars are covered with unnecessary streaks, creases, and fake vents—are present on this old Mustang

These videos are so cringe.  Can you guys hire someone that doesn’t live in NYC?
