These “assistance” features sound like a pain in the ass if you ask me. Sure, lane centering sounds like a useful feature. But unless I can know that it’s absolutely going to work 100% of the time, I have to pay attention to the conditions that can make it stop working, and whether or not it’s working currently or…

The thing is, I really don’t want a car that “assists” me in driving. I want the thing to either drive itself completely, while I kick back and read the paper and drink a scotch, or I want to be in complete control myself.

I’m sure declining sales have nothing to do with the $37,000 average car price.

The recession is coming... while OEMs have been killing off small, efficient cars and introducing $45-60K small trucks.

The UK has been hostile to car ownership for years. This comes as no surprise.  They’re going to slowly squeeze gas powered cars out with either carbon or noise taxes.  

I’m fine with keeping the noise down to a dull roar. However, isn’t 1984 still a fiction and not a guideline? Or is it finally time to move it to the non-fiction section?
