What on earth are you doing for $300 a month? I got my license on the day of my 16th birthday (learner on the day of my 15th birthday). Not to break out the “back in my day, up hill both ways” rhetoric. But, I had a job at K-mart working 30hrs a week (plus being a straight A student, and was in marching band). Bought

It’s like people on this site think that once we get rid of all the A to B commuters and relegate them to EV Autonomous Public Transportation Bubbles, that the roads will be a blissful wonderland for us enthusiasts to hoon around on near empty streets in our gas powered stick shift Miatas well into the foreseeable futu

Seems like a lot of mechanical and electrical complexity for a near negligable gain in efficiency.

The premise behind this reminds me of the absolutely terrible charging system we had on a 2000 Honda Civic. The concept was that the system used an ELD (electronic load detector). This unit reads the amperage load

Politically leftest progressive state seeks to make policy continuing war on fossil fuel industry and internal combustion powered vehicles. Color me shocked.

It’s almost like “the future” that is electric cars would fail miserably without the help of politicians either outright banning IC vehicles (see the EU) or

I kid... Snow brush with a scraper on the opposite end. Duh...

Except when your wiper transmission bushings are worn and the wipers refuse to actually park on the strips. Most of the time it’s below the strips, but sometimes it’s above. Man I need to fix that.

Being in the U.S. I have no point of comparison for the Polo GTI. When I was shopping a couple of years ago, the Fiesta ST was on the list, but God do I hate the dash board. The Recaros are sweet though. The 500 Abarth obviously because I bought one. But past that there are no other Subcompact hot hatches in the U.S.

I’ve already started casually looking into it. It would look good parked in the garage next to my Harlequin Golf.

Is that a Polo “Joker” edition you have in order to get those seats?

I would have considered a new Polo GTI when I bought my 500 Abarth. And as someone who currently owns a Harlequin Golf, I actually am casually looking to import a Harlekin Polo 6N to park in the garage beside it.

So does my ‘01 Forester.

Ugh... Everybody needs to go find and Audi designer and/or exec and kick them in the balls, because Audi is to blame for all our giant grille woes. Well them and the automotive press that universally praised Audi for going form this....

The B5 and B6 styling.

If only they’d make the damn thing a wagon again like it used to be I might consider one. But the minute they puffed the Forester up into a Trailblazer my interest went out the window. I’ll keep my SF Forester thanks.

My beef with screens comes primarily because they are distracting to use while driving. My car is from 2002, which means it still has plenty of buttons, dials and switches that control everything. My muscle memory tells me where the buttons are, so I rarely have to look down.

Came to post something similar. While I don’t think they will actually accomplish this task for full autonomy in 15 yrs. I fully believe this is the end goal.

You are correct the vast majority of Jeep buyers are mall parking lot offroaders. Just making a point about their market research which routinely overlooks anybody not living in a dense urban environment. That said...

I would argue “interest” in EVs is “off the charts” because everybody from the nightly news to every

In terms of Jeep’s desires to have “on road” cars and wanting a piece of the snowy region car sales pie, this take feels right.

Hence them making things like the Compass, Patriot, etc... basically every soccer mom crossover they’ve put out and sold with an ad of said vehicles sitting at the top of rocky cliff face.

The quotes from Christian Meunier doesn’t talk about any of that. He’s not expounding on the benefits in performance of EVs. None of his statements are about instant torque or mechanical simplicity being a boon to off-roading culture. They are all literally lip service to the green energy, save the world from oil, and
